I have a 2000 379 with a Detroit. Can I get a service manual for this truck through Peterbilt anymore with the Detroit in it?

Been online on your website and seen a whole 4 387's....is there more out there than just those, and would the pete store ship a truck for me?

You can buy manuals thru Peterbilt, but truth be told, unless they have stock on service manuals, they would have to order them from a Detroit dealer. People ask me all the time, and I point them to Inland Power Group (in our area) or a Freightliner dealer. Books are around $160+ depending on your pricing agreement with the dealer, or if the parts guy likes you or not :p

You can also try e-bay; people are selling books there all the time.

Once again, this is from experience in the Chicago area.

We usually have more than (4) 387's but the used truck market is very tight right now. With that said if you tell me what you're looking for, chances are we can find it. We could either deliver the truck to you or fly you out to one of our locations.

Does anyone know where I can find a used 97 Peterbilt sleeper that is 36"? I have been looking everywhere and I cant find any. Or if anyone knows what websites that sell sleepers. I would appreciate the help! Thank you.

What do you do to keep DEF from freezing in the winter? I live in Wisconsin and that seems like it would freeze, especially whenthe engine is off for a while. Also, what should I use to keep the fuel from gelling with the new motors? I have been out of trucking for quite a while and need the latest practices... thanks.

Do not put anything in the DEF to keep it from freezing, there are heaters in the tank to thaw it out once you engine is running.
