Any company that tells me that they don't know or won't tell me the pay rate till sometime in the future wouldn't get my services. That's too much leeway to tell you one thing then up & change once your in the door.

It's going well. I had a good trip on Wednesday. Another trainee and I delivered a load of cement on our own with no problems except that the directions were wrong initially.

We got the Marcellus Shale up here in PA, WV, NY, OH. Smith Transport has strait tankers hauling water. Halliburton dosen't pay that well up here. Everybody and their brother bought strait tanker trucks and are making a killing.

Well I havent posted for a while....months at least, lol. But I figured I would come on here...anyone heard more about this new SNI division?
A guy at work mentioned it to me...said he saw signs...which have now been taken down. In my town...SNI is offering a whopping 48 grand a year *...based on experience. In Casper...they are offering 60?!
Out here...60 is a good number to START at, for working in the oil fields. I worked with them for three years...If they hadn't made me team...Id probably still be working with them.
Im just curious to know what kind of equipment they are using...if any. While I like the centuries and Cascadias...neither are suited for oil field roads and operations...lots of companies out here use peterbilt 379s or western stars -
We are driving mostly new Peterbuilt trucks. These are Schlumberger's trucks and trailers. We are either moving the equipment from well site to well site or to and from Schlumberger yards such as Alice, Laredo and Leming. There are pump trucks, tankers flatbeds and various other types of trailers. We also drive and unload pneumatic cement trailers. I haven't been trained on the silo moving truck yet. It is a bobtail with a hydraulic tilt bed that sets and picks up cement silos.
A couple of days ago when we were in Laredo one of our drivers heard the radio advertisement for Schneider and oilfield equipment.
These Peterbuilt trucks are governed at 60 mph and run about 1800 rpm while doing 60. -
Thanks for the reply...but I have a question. If SNI is just hiring people, in essense, to work for other companies...why not get hired on with those other companies directly? Ie...I'd be willing to bet you'd make quite a bit more money if you worked for Schlumberger directly, instead of going through Schneider...or is this kind of a way for Schlumberger to hire workers and cut back on providing benefits? Im just asking because I know the oil field workers out here can make pretty good money (I've heard 70k tossed around quite a bit for a good average); and that Schlumberger has a pretty big ol complex here in town with a ton of trucks...find it surprising they are hiring through Schneider; especially when SNI is using Schlumbergers own equipment...sounds like everything is Schlumbergers except for the driver.
