Thanks folks, I can only post about my adventures here at Calex, with a little humor thrown in. I've been at this racket for 30 years and for me this has been the best gig in all that time.
I'm glad you guy's are settling in. I truly believe that one gets out of life what they put in, be it relationships, finances or work. Be safe this weekend, maybe I'll see everyone the end of the week.

Well, I'm back home. Got here about 4am. I deliver Wednesday in FT. Lauderdale at 7am. I was gone for 5 days and did 2700 miles. If I could do this every week I would be very content. But, I do like running the coast with Calex. So every so often I get that urge to go west. I emptied out in Mountain Top at 4pm Friday. I knew I wasn't going west so Louie had my Florida load sitting and loaded at our customer in McElhattan for Fl.
I worked it out with Louie that if I go west next Friday I have time to do that, get back to Pittston, get my Florida load and be home 2 days before my wife and I go on our cruise. Last year we went on a 7 day cruise so I left my truck in it's usual spot until we got back, this year we are going on a 10 day cruise so I made arrangements to park it in a secure lot for 2 weeks. These next 3 days I'll be home getting the house ready for my mom, she stays at the house to baby sit the 2 neediest 7 year old Labs ever born. Be safe all, God Bless.Last edited: Sep 4, 2011

I have a little something to share with everyone. At 4am yesterday morning when my wife was at the place I park my truck, a truck pulled into the spot next to me. The truck was an owner operator leased on with United Van Lines with a huge double eagle sleeper, very classy looking rig, all shinny with LED lights blazing and decked out with all sorts of chrome. My wife was parked right in front of my little Volvo company truck that had Calex on it. Picture this, she was in front of my truck which put her right next to the fuel tank on the passenger side of Mr. Classy O/O. So what happens next? Mr Classy gets out of his truck, walks over to the passenger side of his truck and right between the tractor and trailer, he steps, unzips his pants and pisses. Now look, I don't have a problem with going to the bathroom, but if it's an emergency like I'm sure it was, and God only knows we've all been there, use a container in your truck. We all have them, I know I do and use it when needed. I have not used the side of my truck in many years.
What bothered me the most about this was Mr. Classy was 50 feet to the front door of the service plaza where I'm quite sure they have bathrooms. Every time my wife picks me up and gets out of her car she comments on the stench of urine permeating through out the air. I really do understand why a lot of places don't want us parking on their property. The few of us that act like animals make it bad for the rest of us.Sacred Feline, KingOfHibernia, The Challenger and 3 others Thank this. -
Heres the other thing, he has that big 'large car' and I almost bet it has a toilet in it as most of those trucks do..!!
It has to be one of my pet peeves, pissing on concrete. The rest areas stink of urine, I mean come on.... a rest area, are you so lazy you cannot walk those few feet to use the bathroom...
Yes I too have been in urgent situations and always carried a 'container' for those times, except when I was in a Day Cab..it is a little hard to drop your draws in one of those without being seen...~lol~JohnBoy, The Challenger and KingOfHibernia Thank this. -
Here's a picture of my temporary mode of transportation beginning on the 29th for 10 nights. I named her the Emerald Princess.
