Yea, got here to Stockton at 2 AM last night. Delivers Tuesday at 0800
I called to see if I could get in early and they are closed for the Holiday. Good grief.

least it is not as hot there as here in phoenix. I even live here and it's HOT. guess being out on the road and away from here the past 2 summers has thickened the blood

Holiday weekends always screw schedules up. Always expect an extra day on the load and there will be no repower as everyone is ahead of schedule. And shippers and receivers are closed or working limited hours.

I was all set to make my 0315 appt in cheyenne and then go home arriving at home about 9am. Nope changed 3rd shift is not working so now my appt is 0900 which means I won't be home until after 3pm. I called trying to deliver early but they moved 1/3 of the 3rd shift loads to the 2nd shift overwhelming the 2nd shift. It sucks but nothing I can do. Stevens did not notify me about the changed appt until 2pm.

Dangerous. To the cars when it finally comes off the Front of the truck. And I bet he did not have his CB on either

Funny, I could always tell when something was slightly strange with the truck. Had a trash bag wrapped around a drive shaft once ... how this guy couldn't tell something was up is beyond me.

TLea - yer probably right ... no CB.. I wonder what happened when the driver took the next sharp turn and the box slipped off his grill. Something was definitely in it with all the sparks ... what a maroon.

Not only do holiday weekends tend to have us sitting an extra day, often times getting a load afterward (in this case tuesday) will stretch an extra day or two.
    Just part of trucking.

I've compared the on-line practice tests to the Texas CDL handbook and they are on track. All through the sections of the CDL handbook there are test questions and stated at the bottom that you may see these questions on the test (dead giveaway). If you can't answer them all them then re-read pages xx - xx. I think that the CDL manuals for all states are pretty close as DOT probably has something to do with standards overall. Could be wrong but sounds logical.

Recruiter asked me why I hadn't been working since June 2010. Told her I had to come back from Kuwait to care for my father then have been looking for work after he passed in November. Been drawing benefits from California but she didn't mention anything about having to show statements for that.
