Things were civil till Channel Jumper became a member. It was reported in another thread what his intentions are here and his only reason for being here. It has nothing to do with posting useful information either which has been proven with the useless miss information he has posted so far in the CB forum.

    Jerry,
You're making a fool of yourself and you're making a fool of us hams. You've alienated everybody here, as you do on other forums. You crap is not welcome anywhere and there is a little note for you from the admins on the island.

    73,
I hope I never work you,

"Another was your post about the ball on the end of an antenna keeping your transmission from shooting straight up. LMFAO!!!!!"

Rat I missed that one, that cracks me up. It is a corona ball to reduce end effects, i.e., lowering the local electrostatic field at the tip of the antenna. Electrons eject off a pointy surface easier meaning you will have more noise in your receiver especially in stormy weather. Not to be confused with a conductor of larger surface area performing the role of adding reactance at the antenna tip, a 'capacitive hat'. If you are running much power this becomes more important since a large ionized cloud will surround the tip. This acts like a large capacitance lowering the antenna resonant frequency as well as wasting power.

LOL got a little crazy the other day loading my truck. Was nto paying atttention and was trying to load for my legal permited weight of 105,500.

Below is a crudy cell phone pic of my scale ticket were I unloaded. Note the gross weight. I did not even have the trailer packed too the roof either. I could have easily gotten another 100 bags or 10,000 lbs (1 bag equals 100 lbs).

SHHHHH, don't tell anyone but I have had 80,000+ IN the trailer. No worries about sliding around in the winter with them loads. You are litterally stuck to the ground.

But lets just say that we, the company I drive for, are big targets for the DOT. They know all to well that we push it since we get paid by the hundred ct weight. Meaning the more we put in the trailer, the more we get paid.

The boss put the binders on us last year though, He is no longer paying over our permited weight. He pockets the extra due to the fines he has helped pay for over loads. Which is rightly so. We really have to watch our weights going into Minnesota though. DOT goes into the scale houses or offices at the places we deliver too and they pull all the tickets and send out nice postcards to the boss for anything over what we can leagally haul. So if I got to minnesota in the winter at over 99K then he gets a ticket in the mail. Don't worry, I am permited to be 99,000 in minnesota in the winter on state roads due to them being frozen solid. We just have to make sure we have the weight distributed properly so that we are not too heavy on our axle groups.

I have to run out to western ND to get a load of spuds to bring back to the eastern part of the state. Being that I will be running ND state highway the whole time then I will be close to 105,000 lbs gross.
