You must be staying out by the Red Roof or something. At least there are plenty of restaurants around there. Its still a better part of town then where the terminal is. All part of your training. You have to learn to survive in the seedy parts of town!
Lurch_USMC Thanks this. -
What town is termanal in and is motel is same town so i can google it thanks
-
The terminal is in Conley and the motel is in Stockbridge I675x1. Best Value Inn.
We are at the terminal now @ 0530. -
The hotel isn't too far from the terminal. The hotel is in a much better area then the terminal is. There are a ton of restaurants and stores around the hotel. A couple miles east of the hotel is a walmart if you need to go there. Usually they will take you there if you need to go. There really isn't too much around the terminal. There used to be a convenience store across the street. There's also a liquor store and booby bar on the corner. Don't get caught at either one! Central has a strict policy on that! Used to be a ghetto TA down the street but I am not sure if its still there.
You guys will have a lot of fun! Wish I were in your shoes! Hopefully you have some good company in class. If you have any questions give me a shout. Its' been a little while since I drove for Central but I can still help you out.Everett Thanks this. -
First i'm a dia hard walker , meaning just yesterday i walked too our local lake here on the bike trail , next too my house, it was 7.5 miles one way, and then i walk backed, so i think i would pass central walking part, i always walked were ever i went, never really had a good car, all the car's i had were junkers and left me walking anyway, but since i dont smoke and on the small side, 5-2, 140 it's good for me,
so that's why i asked were everything was , so as too get a idea how far i an walk and still be back in time, thank's for the great info.

The TA is gone but the quick shop and the booby bar are still next to the terminal. And Wallyworld is just a short hike from the hotel. I agree that the hotel is in a much better area than the terminal.
FYI there is a KFC and chinese joint snugged in tight to the hotel as well as just about every brand of FAT food on the drag in front of the hotel. If you can get a ride there is a Subway a few miles from the hotel and there is one a mile or two from the terminal as well.Last edited: Sep 6, 2011

Well guys just an update here. Took a 36 hour ago bus ride to get here over the weekend from Dallas. That's been about the hardest part so far. Studying for the permit test we take tomorrow and in the truck on Friday. The ppl here are great for the most part, but it does get stressful when you see ppl going home. Just make sure to be upfront about everything. Gotta run more to come soon.

Well to all who care, I got flown out to Henderson, CO to recover a truck. It was filthy and needed a lot of work. The detailer was busy that day so I killed a whole bottle of simple green on it, and swapped out the bed and not it is standable. With the needed repairs I missed my load home and have been doing small runs in the general direction of my home for the last week. My first run was my smallest (18mi) and I had an accedent, I did not realize the '09 Volvo I got took about 5 secs to engage, and when I hopped out to GOAL I rolled back 2 feet and my mudflap holder bumped into a parked truck.
I finaly met Big Rigg, Nice guy and very knowladgable. I should be home tomarrow night.
Overall still happy with Central, after 2 months I am just ready to go home. -
Soooooooooooo did they say anything about the accdent and how much damage too other truck , even at 2 feet thats might close too any truck , was in a truckstop or
