I have been attending Heavy Metal Truck Driving School, Inver Grove Heights Minnesota, for two weeks now. I must say, I am very pleased so far. The instructors are very experienced and have a very good work ethic.

The instructors teach from the book we are assigned as well as from the experiences they have had from the decades of driving. Personally I value the personal expierences shared more than the text written in a book. So far, I feel I have learned much more than what the state requires us to know and thus feel more prepared for my first year of driving.

Last week two of the training trucks had a break down and really messed up the training schedule. The instructors stayed late until everyone was caught up with their drive time and we (students) were all happy.

All in all, I would recomend this school to anyone in minnesota.

how many other students are in your class, and what do you think of the finance options, because when I talked to them you needed at least 2k down to start. TDCFE is more expensive, but i think you have less up front money. I cant decide between them, or even just getting schooling from company, but dont want to be married to company for 1-2 years, then get canned right before debt forgiven, and still be on hook for full tuition.

there are 6 other students in my class, class is three weeks long. I went and picked up a bank loan for the full tuition. Most companies I have talked to will pay $100 or more per month for your tuition so it's like the company is paying to improve my credit score :D

Do you listen to Metallica going down the road?? :)

The OP mentions dealing with a breakdown and training late. Actually that is positive training as it's part of trucking. An added bonus of sorts.
