Curious about arm rests. do most company trucks have an armrest on the right by the stick shift??? Ive seen a few freightshakers that dont have em... but is it common for companys to buy truck without??

A right side arm rest is pretty standard with most seats, which you are probably already aware of after 2 years in the biz.

Most of our Volvos actually dont have an arm rest on the right side. I dont understand why they do this. I guess its a cost cutting measure.

I can honestly say I have never been in a freightliner in 27 years (counting my time driving as well as riding with family) without arm rests. I have seen some where the arm rest has been removed, but I don't consider that the same as a seat made without it.

Gotta have that right side arm rest. If I got a truck without one, I'd have fall back on my redneck engineering degree and whip something up. 500mi. a day with no arm rest is cruel and unusual punishment. Now how long before an old hand talks about running coast to coast sitting on a milk crate in an old cabover with no windshield.

"When we needed air in the tires we had to blow in them!"

Lol no disrespect intended to the old timers...I love hearing their stories.

I actually remember sleeping on the doghouse in an old cabover Mack. Pawpa slept in the sleeper and I was short enough that was where I fit lol. Hell when dad and Pawpa drove team for a little while in a Freightliner century that had overhead storage in the sleeper I actually slept up there.
