What you say, Flood, might be true, but you are the extreme exception to the rule. Your numbers are so outrageous for driving for a large co. like USX, I have a hard time believing they are accurate. Most drivers are driving for sliding scale,.21 to.29 c a mile. The chances of getting 2700 as a solo driver today are very slim. I have known lease operaters not getting 2700 mi per wk. I ran dedicated solo, in Parisi group, one of the most profitable groups in the company. I consider myself fortunate to have made 25,000 last year. I had to fight for that! Are you a company spokesperson of some kind, here to refute honest assessments made on ethical standards? Just a question I had to ask, since I have intimate knowledge of how this company works.:biggrin_25511:

I was with US Xpress for 2 months and my paychecks were horrible. I could not live on the miles they were giving me...Took my truck to Tunnel Hill, said I was quitting and the really nice people in recruiting got me on that very same day with a contracting company for US Xpress. Much better money as I now have a weekly guarantee. I sure don't understand why they hire so many new drivers. They could keep more of us if they would let us make a living. It's just crazy.

exception MAYBE.... is it an exception to do a good job and not cry like a baby anytime something goes wrong.... is it an exception to go out of your way to make the company look good to the customer.... is it an exception to not get mad at a customer (to their face anyway) when things go wrong even if it's their fault.... is it an exception to go out of the way to make a customer happy.... is it exception to have a 2000 miles trip and give it up after less than 400 miles to do a repower that is only 250 miles...

last week we were waiting to get loaded and another drive came to get his load, it was going to be 4-6 hrs before the load was ready so after 2 hrs he left (he was running out of hrs) left his trailer in the door to get loaded (usx was going to have another truck pick it up) but they were running late so (to make the customer happy) i took my trailer when load and left went to a drop yard dropped it went back and got the other trailer and took it to the drop yard then hooked my trailer and went down the road. did i have to do it HELL NO I DIDN'T i suggested it to keep the customer happy, i still had my load, the customer had both loads picked up so they were happy and it took me 1.5 hr's to do it. would you have done it or just left wih your load and said it not my problem....?

exception maybe but what does all this going out of your way get you....? longer runs.... less sitting..... getting put on a board for new customer's (first impression) being on a board for customer retention (customers we were going to lose because other drivers could make loads ontime or just bad customer service) so realy what does that get you (doing an exceptiolal job) more MONEY to the point that people know who you are we were called "the go to truck" by a supervisor and you get calls from vp's asking YOU to help out or a call ASKING if you want to do some specal runs, being able to ask for a run to vegas so you can take a 34 there because you want to and being told ok

are you the type of company driver i see at the terminal sitting and b i t c h i n g about how you aren't getting miles and 2 hr's later you say how you turned down a 150 mile run because it was only 150 miles.....? won't do repowers to help out....? won't do rail...? gree wonder why your not getting miles, what you think they don't remember who they can count on...
i was a company driver for over 7 years, (solo and team) i'm am o/o (team) leased to usx now
i've never made less than $39,000 in a year as a company driver
    so do i..
1st you take a pay cut to be on dedicated don't you we took a (team) pay cut of .07cpm to get the dedicated we had and our 52 week avg was (team) $2200 NET not gross thats $1100 each, thats $57200 NET each last year

2nd parisi group pay is only ok alot pay better heck a solo can make more than $30000 first year running DG, last time i ran dg (7 years ago...!) i was paid 186 miles 3 stores (stop pay) and unload pay i made $326 in 27 hours (including a 10hr break) and i turned down running dg dedicated

I was with US for a little over 11 months. I ran team's and solo. My team partner had 16 yrs experience and he quit after all the $200-$500 weeks. Miles were low on both sides. Solo and Team, but I liked US my mistake was leasing after 10 months in order to get the miles. I had the truck for 6 wks and 2 days. It was in the shop 8 times, for major repairs. They wouldnt give me a different truck and after 30 days I was responsible for all repairs, even if it was for the same repairs that were not fixed, or fixed properly during their 30 days of coverage. It was a walk away lease and I returned it to USX Tunnell Hill and walked away. Pay is sliding scale, benefits are very expensive, but in fairness all med coverage is expensive. U get home within 2 or 3 days of your requested time off, so don't make DR or Dentist appts and think your going to be able to keep it, chances are you won't make it home in time to keep it. USX is probably no better or worse than any other starter co. At least you can put inverters in their trucks (installed by USX) so I had a frig and was able to brew my own coffee. Days off max at (I think) 4 days no matter how long u stay out and they will reseat your trk if you lay out. I saw that happen at Ellenwood a couple of times. But the truck needs to be making money so I can understand that. I don't mean to sound disrepectful, I liked them pretty good, and understood the miles were just low unless I were to lease. If I hadn't made the mistake of leasing, I would still be with them to at least finish out my full year.

Please read those threads that you were given, I don't like to repeat myself. I wasted 8 months with these liars. Yes, I was suckered in. Please, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Except for Flood, it seems none of the solo drivers are very happy at all concerning his/her miles count per week.

On the other hand, seems in every thread I've read concerning US Express, team drivers for the most part are happy with the miles that they get on a weekly basis.

I am sitting at the distribution center with a broken cross member on a target trailer. Third party has to come out to fix it. That will be an hour plus. The fix another hour. I get paid nothing for my time. How is that forbid and ugly?
