The triangle means Toronto-Vancouver(Calgary)-Los Angeles; expenssive fuel through Canada and US west coast, tough road conditions in winter time , crazyCalifornia regulations and ....the worst part: heavy pulling across the Rockies. I did this route O/O for Star Van Systems, years ago ,i blew up 2 motors , in 1 year. My advce is to stay away from any companies running West Coast if you pay the truck maintenance bill.Don't look at 10-15 cents/mile extra ; you will pay a lot more for repairs. I have close to 2 mil miles experience as O/O, imop the best trips for Ontario based teams O/O paid/mile are down to Texas, midwest; lowest price diesel in North America, i buy most of my diesel tax free in Indiana and Detroit Duty free, company paid IFTA. Also flat roads, snow free for most of the year. Some companies i know running this route and looking for teams O/O; Celadon Canada, Keypoint,Drive,Cat,

He told you wrong. On time payment had never been a problem with Concord. However they had other problems. There was a time when Concord was the best company in the world (Atleast some old timers told me that). However it was not that great company to work for during 2011/2013 period. They lost some contracts and their best loads were always given out to some specific brokers only. For you and me, we were mostly doing loads that big shot brokers did not want..Averaging app 17000 miles a month whereas big guys were averaging 22000 -24000. When they moved to Cambridge and dispatch was merged with McCarthur, it became worse because now you had to compete with company trucks as well. McCarthur started giving out Concord loads (100 % drop and Hooks) to company trucks and started giving out McCarthur loads (Mostly Manual unloading of Furniture) to Concord owner operators. Plus now you had to deal with some extremely rude McCarthur dispatchers. Miles or no Miles, Driver treatment had never been a problem, when concord was running out of Etobicoke. Even if the dispatcher is mad as hell, he would express his anger in private. And if the head dispatcher is happy with you, you are going to make serious money ( My max take home was more than $13000 in one month, after paying my codriver)
Now concord is back in Missisassauga and their dispatch is running out of Quick X /Road Fast yard. Maybe the right time to do your Homework. I got friends there and I will keep you posted -
Also you have to keep in mind that they have lowered the base rate by atleast 2 cpm, since the old days (When they were running out of Etobicoke). Now some owner operators are claiming that whatever has been lowered in base rate has been compensated in FSC rates. I do not believe it at all.
