I don't wear driving gloves, but if I'm on the phone with a customer or my wife and I walk into the truck stop with my headset on.... tough noogies!

I'm not nor have I ever tried to impress anyone with my headset or anything else for that matter.

I don't have any input on GPS but as far as Bluetooth the Plantronics Voyager pro is amazing!! I love mine and I haven't had one person say anything about background noise at all. I picked mine up from my verizon store for 75 bucks.

If you do not like air controller style, or just like a smaller unit Jawbone the original.

You have to do a bit of digging on the net but they are out there. All day charge, use it mowing my lawn, and I don't feel the need to use call signs when talking:biggrin_25523:

And I agree. If that is my opportunity to talk with someone I need or want to I'll have mine on. It allows for hands free operation anywhere not just a truck. Heck I even hear they are required in cars in some states:biggrin_25522:

Wow! It really lasts a WHOLE day?
    Wow!

And only a hundred and fifty bucks!

I have a Plantronics, not sure of the model, but I only spent $30 at Walmart for it.
I've not had any complaints about sound quality from the people I talk to, and on my end the quality is pretty good.

And I charge it about once a week.

I would second this one also. The best part is you don't look like you just came from mission control, although, some may think that's cool.

Best GPS = Rand McNally Deluxe road atlas.

Seriously, don't waste your money on the truck specific GPS's. Also, DO NOT rely on a GPS for routing. Use them for redundancy ONLY. I have a Nuvi 1300 and it works great when coupled with the Qualcomm and Atlas.

x2. GPS is fine as long as you already know where your going. I swear some guys can't drive across the street without one.

    THBatMan8 Thanks this.

For the price, the i-Way 250c is the best GPS in regards to map layout and detail.

I've had my Blueparrot for about 8 years now and I've only had to replace the battery once. Still use it everyday.

I'm sold on the Blue Parrot as well. I have the Motorola's and the original Jawbone, and as far as comfort, sound quality and battery life, the Blue Parrot wins. The ear supported models would make my ear actually hurt after wearing it all day and stopped using Bluetooth all together. As I've seen a lot of drivers with the Blue Parrot, I used some points to buy one and use it all of the time now. Mine will go days without a recharge and I use it quite a bit.

As far as GPS goes, I just use Google maps on my Motorola Xoom when I don't know where I'm going, not for the routing but for the first and last couple miles. I also have instant weather radar on it as well thanks to the WeatherBug app. TRY THAT with your Garmin.

I had a driver brag about his TND 510 and show me it's features. It ticked him off when I showed him that my 4-wheeler nuvi 1300 could do the same things. The main differences between my nuvi 1300 and the TND 510 is that the TND 510 tells you where the weigh stations are and it can help keep track of HOS. My Nuvi 1300 can search for truck stops, rest areas, etc.

    Nuvi 1300 = $140.00

    TND 510 = $299.00

Not worth the price difference, is it?

And before someone chimes in, I tested the TND 510 for 6 days and compared it to the Nuvi 1300. Both GPS's gave me the same routing, the same POI, etc. Oh, and you can edit routes with the Nuvi 1300. You can't edit routes on the TND 510.
