Need Drive tires!

I run Firestone 690 and they wear smooth with good traction.I have 360000 on them now with 14/32 left.I really dont know how scientific the rolling resistant chart is with so many variables.I only know the 690 is a great tire and that is what I'll go back with.

Best tire for the price I think. 500k+ miles on my last set, never had a blow out or a flat and I was going into a lot of rail yards and construction sites. Best grip in the snow as well.

 

If you see those on sale in the coming weeks let me know please.

I just put the brand new Goodyear G572's on my rear axle a few months ago. 30/32" tread depth, nice and wide and a FuelMax tire as well. So far I'm pretty happy with them, and the reason I chose them over the 726EL was better fuel economy and I've been very happy with the G399 steers I bought last year. It's the first time I've ever bought Goodyear as I prefer Michelin and then Bridgestone. Michelin stopped making the XDAHT and the XZA-2 which were by far my favorite tires. I run Bridgestone 250ed on the step deck, and will continue to until I find a better tire.

 

I run 5 trucks and although they are expensive I have gone to Michelin's XDN2. I have had great luck with wear. I ran FS 690, 726EL, yokohama, dunlop, goodyear, you name it I tried it. The initial cost is hard to swallow, but I do see a long term payoff. Cheap tires are nothing more than cheap tires.

 

How are they wearing for you?

I have them (original tires on the new Pete)....they wore a little weird....
No matter how well I kept them inflated and rotated them.... The inners always wore funny on the inside shoulders....They cupped like the shocks were bad....But the rest of the tire wore proper....

No shock problems and the tractor alignment has always been spot on...

My tire guy says that's how Bridgestones wear.....

 

I had the exact same problem with 726's. Same story, new shocks, good alignment and was told the same thing by tire dealers about the wear problem. Trying Yokohama TY 577 they have a groove around the outside edge that is supposed to prevent this common wear problem with the 726. They did fine until about 65,000 miles and now they are doing it too!!

 

I've always been partial to Michelns. They also have an excellent dealer network.
