Well, after no luck with Pepsi, I thought I would apply to Swift. They ran my DAC and apparently I had accident on their I didn't know about. I was involved in an accident during a road test with ARG. They did not put it on the DAC, but apparently when an accident goes over a certain dollar amount DOT/DMV put the accident on your DAC automatically.
1. Car accident over a year ago
2. USA Truck-let go for safety (I shouldn't have been pressured into driving exhausted, so I was all over the road).
3. ARG accident
So, I guess that's it. My $185/month CDL A is next to useless. Very discouraging as I have been unable to find any type of job.
I guess I'm off the fence now.

A lot of the smaller fleets (300 units or less) don't use DAC. They go by your driving record and work background. Check them out and also, you get treated much better with a smaller company than the Mega-carriers. Less politics, not treated like a number, etc.
Good luck. -
He can NOT pass a roadtest.
He gave it a shot,
time to move on.
Good Luck !! -
I can't believe your still at it!
Didn't you crash a truck while taking your road test a while back ago?
-
Yes. That's the one that just showed up on my DAC. It took over a month to show. Then I worked at Pepsi.
-
Yeah it can sometimes take 3 months before it shows on your DAC.
-
Well, you got into an accident on a road test and have a safety related termination from another company. Did Pepsi terminate you as well?
-
Remember, the changes in CSA2010 are risk-based now and put all the points, "good" and "bad," on both the company and the driver.

The writing is on the wall in all caps and red in color. If you choose to ignore it that is your choice. At this point in your attempt at a new career, I don't believe you need anyone's advice to know what the answer is. The problem is that as clear as the answer is you refuse to accept it.
This may seem like a bad deal but if you continue and someone dies, you will see that this was not such a bad deal. Sometimes you have to cut your losses and leave it at that. Time is money and you are wasting it trying to make this work. Stop and think about it. You can do better spending your time and effort on something more productive.
Just in case all this went in one ear and out the other here's a second idea. If you try hard enough, you may make this work. Still if you put that much effort into something else you would get a better return.
Your comments have indicated that you are in this for the money. The money really isn't there starting out and many never see real money. Your comments have indicated that your family and time with them is important. Home time is the last thing that most companies care about.
What you are missing is you aren't cut out for this career, you aren't going to have much of a family life and it is not the financial boom you are looking for. There is much disappointment in your future if you continue to press on.
Will you be happy with 0.26 CPM on 2800 miles? That is $728 a week less $131 taxes, $60 other and $110 road living costs for a net of $427 per week. Will that be enough to live on for a year and pay for the training?
