Hard to get any diesel engine overheating when cruising without load.

Ok but dont mean just overheating..i mean since the engine isnt boosting when they're driving around to and from pulls and just lugging around still dumping tons of fuel... Isnt that hard on the internals at all?

Only problem is it will dilute the oil with raw fuel. So you need to change the oil more often.

The clutch started out as a standard Lipe unit that has been machined for bigger springs and thourghly checked over by a guy in PA that builds these clutches for sled pullers. It has 6000 lbs of plate load and is actually pretty decent for pedal effort in my 379 Pete. The fuel pump is shimmed to bring my fuel PSI up to 105 PSI at 1400 RPM. This is a different setting than what many guys use, but it fits my operation perfectly since I never run the motor over 1400 RPM in daily use. When I pull I just take one shim out of the pump to drop the pressure enough so the motor will rev to 2100 RPM without pushing fuel past the injector o-rings. If you want to know how to shim the pump do a search for it. It is explained in at least 5 different threads here that I know if

Let me know when there is a pull in my area next summer and I be there. I would be curious what this ISX would do. I've out pulled a few C15's and an N14 up the hills around here.
