    10-speed manual transmissions only.

13's use the same shift pattern as a 10, but split the upper gears in half steps. You don't have to mess with that part to drive it.

    cwc and CRoberts00 Thank this.

I wasn't charged for chains either. Though I was when I broke some cables, but my FM went to bat for me and got me reimbursed.

They will not let you leave the terminal with your first load without 2 load locks, a heavy duty lock set for the trailer including the air cuff for the cab, 2 pulp thermometers, Jumper cables, and commercial vehicle road atlas. These items are purchased by the driver.

They will give you or you should ask for Comchecks, extra seals, trip sheets, back up paper log books, and an some all purpose lumper receipts in case you have to make your own. All thus stuff is usually in a shopping bag they hand out in the outbound bay for the newbs.

Air hose is ok to have, but not required.

It can be charged to the truck with your FMs permission, but it is up to the driver to work out the payment plan with the FM. Without the payment plan discussion it will be taken in one charge on the next check.

Next question: as a company driver, what spare parts should he carry (and will Maintenance give 'em up?)

He says he's currently pulling more miles in his shift than his "trainer" is, and there's some weird goings on w/ the loads, but as he has a week before the truck is due back in SPRINGMO to come off lease, he's just trying to make it through.

In theory, the truck is supposed to be back on the 17th. We'll see how that rolls? Then he has a couple of classes for his upgrade, and truck assignment....anyone wanna fill me in on that? He's kinda unclear as well, since he didn't to Prime school.

I love the freedom, the friends I have made...and I love the paychecks I bring home...that's why I do it.
