Good deal. I read another thread where a driver had an accident or something just before the drug test and the company decided he was avoiding the test.

You cannot control getting sick! Steps you can take to decrease the risk but you cannot stop illness 100%.

just explain to prospective employers what happened, the one's who are clueless will ignore you. I started with my company Nov. 17th '97, when they hired me, I explained to them that we already purchased plane tickets to go home to visit a sick/dying relative (who passed away 6 mos. later) over thanksgiving. They weren't pleased, but they let me do it and didn't fire me.

If what the OP is saying here, is all there is to his termination, then he is VERY LUCKY to NOT be working for that company. Any company that would can a guy because of flu or food poisoning just isn't one I'd want to work for.

    The Challenger Thanks this.

It wasn't a driving job. It was an office position. They had a three month probationary position. Out sick, got a call from HR saying they were terminating me for being out sick. I was pretty shocked. That being said, they did have really high turn over. After Central Refer telling me they can't hire me since I was terminated, I just want to be sure that's not the norm in this industry before I go to CDL school. I'll give some companies a call on Monday.

BigJohn54, The Challenger and Big Don Thank this.

You have any driving exp ? Saw wannabe in profile. there are a few training carriers to stay away from ! Some schools p[ull more weight than others. We hire out of select schools and have a great training program.

If that is the game that Central is playing, then I would even more so stay away from them.
