How about this.
On q'com
"This vehicle has equipment required by the FMCSR's for safe compliant operation. Since operating this vehicle would violate FMCSR 393.78 and since it is a violation of FMCSR 390.3 I refuse to operate this vehicle until such time as repairs to bring it into compliance are made."
Funny but I do not remember the part that states you only need operating wipers when raining. Seems like they are a requirement at all times so Jerri's prognostication of future weather events is quite moot. She can either get the repair made now or send another driver or tow truck to take it to an authorized shop.

What? That's a rule? Cite it for me pls....
-
DOT can get the E Logs faxed to them
-
So that meets the rule? Whew !
-
It has a place right on there for a fax number just ask DOT for their fax number type it in pick what logs you want to send and send it E Logs are not that hard I know you long time drives will not want to switch when the rule comes into effect that everyone has to be on E Logs
-
Yes. The logs can be faxed and there must be a way available to make that happen. Gawd forbid the 'puters go down right about then. But, I had a long enough cord on my QC that I stood outside with that Texas bear showing him the grid for the past few days.
My suggestion is, learn how to use that QC and show the grid when requested so you don't wind up burning your 14 while waiting for your office to get around to faxing your logs. -

The QC cord stretches.
Also you can have your logs faxed to a specific number if they want to look at a paper copy.
I remember when I was with Werner, we were ELogs but didn't have stickers on the truck. They do now I guess but back in 07/08 we didn't.
Last time I had to go to International, they did the wiper arm recall in addition to replacing the leveler valve.lil may Thanks this. -
I kind of knew that this was the case, however I don't have one of those legal DOT required books on board with me at this time, but I will. If I had things would have turned out much different.#Tazz Thanks this.

You know they are required.
Has anyone ever had an Officer request you show him one
I had one Officer ask me in Ga what I was doing when I got mine out one day. I guess with the computer age they forget that the little green book exists.
But yeah get one. Even if you couldn't quote the numbers the sentiment can still be sent. Call safety and inform them the shop is attempting to force you to violate FMCSR regulations
