NY State Route 87

There are good sized rest areas along the northern part. There's a tiny little TS about 20 miles south of Plattsburg if I remember right, but if you've gotten that far there's a big one at the last exit before the border off to the left. Then again that might be just a restaurant. It's in the same lot the big Pete dealer is in. There's also a Mobile station with truck parking off exit 40 but don't expect it to be open after 10. The rest area is a couple miles further on.

Neither is actually on 87, but both are a few miles from it on 84.

 

wilton has a T/S.exit 15 maybe

 

It's off exit 16. Wilton travel plaza aka Scotties. There is plenty of parking and a real restaurant with good food.

 

There is a fairly large truck stop around Glens Falls. After you get past it, most of the stops are small.

There are a couple fuel stops with truck parking at exit 17 but not really truck stops. there is also a rest area between exit 17 and 18 and another between exit 23 and 24. there is also a Mcdonalds at exit 18 that has truck parking. Up untill last year I lived in that area since I was a kid, these are most of the parking spots I can remember.

 

There is a TS at exit 21 or 21A just north of Kingston. Decent size with a Cat scale and motel.

 

there was one in the port of Albany also. Not sure if that one is still there though. Think it was called the 23 truckstop or something, its was more off I90 but you can get to it fairly easy from 87

 

Used to be a place called Betty Beaver. Small truck stop, friendly, up past Schroon lake . Just checked yahoo maps. Exit 32
