    :biggrin_25513: I see so many opean parking spot's ok, but the problem, that driver cant back straight or half over the line with the trailer tadems or they do a qukee and pull thru and still get the trl half over in the next bay, do it right the first time and do it slow,, anthor thing is i wish they , the truckstops would mark certain areas for wide loads, they take up at lest three spots by themself , put em over next too the hazmat spots , :biggrin_25523: or we can go futher here , stepping on my own foot, a reefer lot :biggrin_25523: for all you van drivers that want peace and quite :biggrin_25523:

    I too have been guilty of saying "thanx" when I was not flashed. Your not sure if they flashed you or think you might have missed it. Someone backs off to give you room or lets you over. It dont take much to hit the markers or 4-ways to say thanx and if it's unwarranted then no big deal

    I see this in California all the time with the split speed limit. If I come up on a broke down truck or even a cop on the side of the road, and there is enough traffic to make it difficult to move over. I just slow down, ride the middle line, and go by them. Much safer than forcing your way over at the last minute, especially when you consider how often a 4 wheeler will pop out to the right to pass. There can be a cop or broke down vehicle on the white line and you can safely pass by them in your lane while giving them an easy 4 ft of space. The secret is to slow down. Slowing down to 40 mph for a few seconds doesn't cost me much time. That said, if I can easily move over I do. If I was broke down on the side of the road and there was alot of traffic, I would much rather the other drivers were looking forward out their windsheild and not looking in their mirrors as they approach me.

    I love it when I move over to the middle lane for a disabled vehicle and the 4 wheeler behind me decides to pass me on the right so he just flies by the vehicle on the shoulder with just a couple feet to spare.

    People are IDIOTS. Anytime Ive had to sit on the shoulder for whatever reason I was just baffled by how many people would leave less than 2 feet between my vehicle and theres. Me at a dead stop, and them going 65+mph. And they will even do it when there are 3 lanes next to them wide open.

    Seriously, I hate to sound like a misanthrope, but as a general rule, people are idiots, and the smart ones are the exception to the rule.

    The problem is when they just put their truck in a position that makes it difficult for other drivers to manuever in and out of the lot.There is a reason why those areas are not striped for parking.The space is needed to safely maneuver trucks in and out of the lot.They give no thought to the problems they are causing for other drivers in the lot.There is no excuse for laziness and not caring.Not acceptable.

    What annoys me is drivers that complain about reefer units running at night,then they are the ones idling there truck all night with there blower going off every 30 seconds.Its o/k to idle your truck,put its not ok to protect our load with the reefer unit,really. Oh,your talking about the van drivers that idle there truck all night,lol;

    It's usually better in the middle of the night than anytime during the day, even the slow times during daylight. If the truck stop is empty during the day, to me that's the time to park and go in since it's easy to park. When you pull in a truck stop at 3am you're most likely not finding a hole and the pumps are generally barren. The rare times I drive during the day I always park. I've never once had someone waiting on me day or night and always park in the pull up at night. I'll even sit down and eat if I can see the pumps from where I sit so if for some reason a rush of guys come in and I can move but it never happens.

    I've been lucky enough so far that noone has blocked me in. I have had to work a little harder due to the ones you're talking about but as long as I get a spot I really don't care.

    I know some people will say that sometimes you just have to make a space because there aren't any, and I'm sure that does happen, but lately I've seen a lot of people parking in stupid places when there are many open spots. A couple weeks ago I pulled into a J right behind two other trucks. From the entrance the place looked packed and the two ahead of me went and 'made' a space for themselves but when I got to the back there were more than 20 spots open. There's also been many times where I've watched someone pass up a spot that may be a little difficult to get into and then parked somewhere a person with a little bit of pride wouldn't.

    But again, I really don't care. I can't control what they do and I refuse to be the one looking like an idiot when I get up in the (late) morning and the truck stop has cleared out.

    Yeah it is kind of funny when you find the numb nuts who can't park worth a #### and then sleeps in. Everyone else has left the truck stop and this dootdeedoo is parked in the middle of it all jacked up sideways or over the curb or nosed into a dumpster! Classic!

    Some of the maw and paw truckstops have truck parking but do not have lines. So you are supposed to get next to a truck and go on down the line.

    However, sometimes I pull into one late at night and can't find a hole. But I see trucks parked 6 to 8 feet apart instead of getting as close as you can to the next guy. When 5 or 6 trucks do this, they are hogging all the space and tired truckers can't park cuz lazy inconsiderate ain't thinking about anybody but themselves.

    Get as close as you can to the guy next to you so more guys can park....
