Yeah, Joe Ritchey built the clutch. He is a great person to deal with and did one heck of a job building it. I got to thank Mr. Haney for the referral to him.

I got 3 weeks on the clutch already and so far it isn't that bad. The clutch is a little more "grabby" taking off. Also it will start to hop a little if you try to slip it...the clutch likes more of a fast steady engagement. The pedal effort isn't near as bad as I was planning on. After talking with Mr. Haney we agree that it must be the setup on the 379 Peterbilt clutch linkage. I defintely would install high quality rod ends for the clutch linkage (another great suggesting from Haney:biggrin_25514:). All in all, I love the clutch and look forward to abusing it on the pulling track and dyno rollers.:biggrin_2559:

Yep, went there and got wet...Kept the beer hall full, people trying to stay dry.:biggrin_25520:
Know a guy very well,Norm from Plainfield, with a new pulling truck. Was looking forward to seeing him pull, but oh well.
I always enjoy watching Ron pull his Jeep with the 903 Cummins.
Also enjoy watching the local heros with the fifth wheel tractors. Know many of them.
Where is the pull at end of the month? :biggrin_25514:

Just wanted to say thanks for all the information PT and the rest. To me it is very informative and interesting to read about the various mods. I do like the advice PT has given on modifying your rig in regards to taking it one step at a time.

Ya I hear Joe Ritchey does the bulk of the pulling clutches. Over the last couple years ive been able to get some info from the pullers in Pa but most of them are so secretive about everything its ridiculous. Does Mr. Haney pull?

As far as I know Mr. Haney hasn't hooked to a sled, but has done a lot of dyno contests. I may be wrong about him hooking though. I keep my lips sealed about a few things I do and many of the others in my area are worse than me. If a person is honest and comes up to me with a decent attitude at a pull I'll show and talk to them about anything and everything. My thought process is who cares if soemone is running the same setup as me...that just makes reading the track that much more important.

So far I haven't had a issue where I needed to pump air to the drives. But I have thought about it and got a plan all worked out if i need to.

Ive seen others do tha b4, no sure how well it works, most rules regulate hitch hieght and pumping the bags up won't fly on some rigs. I know most of the super stock rigs have a rigid rear axle and a live/moving front drive. I may try something like that in the future. clutch needs to be first though:biggrin_25510:
