Most fleece purchases are bad....do homework and hire a lawyer to look over your contract. I am actually considering switching to ffe myself but when they started talking lease I said no just company driver but that's just me!

    Cochise Thanks this.

They did not give me any balloon payment or buy out info but I have not gone into detail with a recruiter yet. I was asking drivers for reliable info because drivers normally can be counted on for the truth except for the notable exceptions grinding axes on companys they just do not like. Just doing homework so to speak. Thank you for the responses and stay safe.

Oops, sorry for the spelling slip. It should be companies they do not like rather than companys. I think the best thing to do is hire on as a company driver to test the corporate culture and check on their honesty level. Three to six months should be long enough and starting in 2012 rather than 2011 has some advantage.

I am considering FFE for a number of personal reasons and I would like to input from anyone that knows what presence they might have in Michigan.

    Thoughts?

The advantage I referred to relates to my impending divorce as well as possibly incorporating in Texas as a one person corporation where I would like my fiscal year to match the calendar year. I only wish that I was some type of guru as to freight movement in 2012! I will look into FFE presence in Michigan as I have a sister living in Paw Paw. I will post whatever I find out. Stay safe.:biggrin_25519:

You might call Brent Wood at 855-780-8013. Brent is an FFE recruiter and that is his direct line. He just told me 15 minutes ago that they do run into Michigan but may not be able to accomodate students from there easily. It would depend on what part of Michigan you are talking about. FFE has markets in Lansing, Kalamazoo and Detroit. They might be LTL accounts, I am not clear on that. The lower third of the state is in their hiring area. Give Brent a holler because he is bending over backwards to accomodate me in coming back out over the road after three years off. His E-mail is bwood@ffex.net. Stay safe and have a great day.:biggrin_25519:

Thanks for the helpful information and phone contact! Paw Paw is near K'Zoo, not that far from me (several of my direct reports live there and make the daily commute to work here) so getting info on your sister's location will be relevant to me.
