So umm you could work for my carrier probably. Do your research and figure out who that is. Being the judgemental guy that I am I wonder if he was following too close or fell asleep?

It was probably a town/city/county cop. All they do is right it up and let the insurance companies deal with it. If they didn't witness it, they don't issue a ticket

Interesting, but I always thought the city/town/county cops called in the State (Troopers, DOT) as they don't even have proper authority to look at logs if an accident happens.

If they didn't call the state, I'd say the driver is extremely lucky... and I wouldn't even mention it on an application... and/or contest it on the DAC.

If the company your applying to doesn't use DAC, they likely would never know.

One of the problems w/ CSA & such is that the local PD accident reports do not always get into the SMS system. Often they do show up on your MVR if it is your home state.

About 1/3rd of the recordable accidents I see in a year actually do make it to the SMS report & the two I have now were both investigated by local cops and the reports were picked up by the state and put into SMS with my driver's names.

It is very possible to find out just from the MVR and the Pre-Employment Screening Program [if they use it] where the DOT reports a driver's accidents back 5 years IF the state sent them in...

They only get into DAC if you worked for a company that uses them and reports terminations for the $2.50 credit.

It may be good for OP to spend the $10.00 to get her husband's PSP report from the DOT after leaving time for it to get thru the system. That will show what is out there.
