You may want to check the South Florida craigslist today, have a few post since you posted by small companies looking for drivers.
-
The tanker companies, none of which pay well, Indian River, Bynum, Oakley, and then there is Walpole, hauling pneumatics, but has a terminal in the tampa area.
A friend of mine who lives north of TPA works for Knight.....they keep him busy, not much time off, but he's looking. I think they have a terminal near Lakeland -

They are both food grade tanker companies based out of Florida. Good luck let us know where you end up. -
If you are looking for work in the food grade industry, Oakley Transport is always looking for drivers willing to learn!! I have worked for them for almost ten years! any company is slow getting started, but once you get your feet wet. things work out great!!! I have worked for many of the companies listed below and can tell you first hand i'm happy at Oakley Transport!!
