Take a look at the websites below:
www.centralvalleyCDL.com
www.jiffystruckrental.com
I went with Jiffys, but had Sue from Central Valley as my trainer before she started Central Valley on her own. Both of these rental places have their trucks on the road daily around here, drivers passing.Last edited: Sep 14, 2011

The FL60 has a GVWR of around 26k. Throw in a 1k GVW trailer and you have a class A vehicle. It doesn't need to have airbrakes. You'll just have a airbrake restriction on your class A because the vehicle you took the road test in wasn't equipped. -
Some of the statements on this thread are way the hell off...
A FL60 with a GVWR of 26K, pulling a 1K trailer is not a CDL A vehicle. Read the definitions of commercial vehicle class; it's a federally uniform standard.
That truck shouldn't have been used in a CDL A road test. -
The trailer weight by itself does not make a difference. You can pull a 11k GVW trailer with a Pinto on a class C license. The combination vehicle needs to have a GVW of 26,000 LBS or more.... Period.
