Last night i dropped a trailer at ES3 in York Pa. I83 x 28. There wern't any empty trailers for me to p/u till morning, so i bobtailed about 1/2 mile away to I83 diner which has truck parking. I hadn't even got my brake set when a pickup truck with a flashing amber light on the roof pulled in front of me and demanded $ 10 or a reciept showing i've bought $10 of food. I said i just got here and havn't even got out of the truck yet and he said i need to pay or leave. I left and wont come back. I run there frequently and always ate there. Theyre food is good but wiyh an attitude like that i'm not ever going back.

The Wawa is NOT a truckstop. You park, get food, eat and LEAVE. Yeah it sucks if you're waiting on a load but that isn't Wawa's problem. I make it a point to stop there when I'm up that way to grab a coffee or a sandwich, and there isn't a spot available and trucks are lined up 3 wide on the curb because some big company drivers are taking a 10 hr or 34 hr restart. I'm very surprised they haven't closed off that lot and went back to the way it used to be. Go to the bandit or now trexlertown again if you want a truckstop.

Hello Infosaur and the Group:
I have found a Very spacious Truckstop on I-78-22 at the Midway Exit, Exit 16 in Bethel PA. It is a huge parking lot between the Mexican restaurant there, across the street from the chrome shop and Truck wash and behind the Midway (Pennsylvania Dutch) diner. There is a nice Comfort Inn right there and It may in fact have a few lot lizards there due to the fact that There is an Adult bookstore directly across from the Exxon station at that intersection. Strangely, there are 5 to 10 Big Trucks often parked at the Adult Bookstore parking lot at night there as well.
Midway or Exit 16 is not far from Carisle, Reading or Lebanon PA, probably "Midway" between them all. I ate at the Midway Diner there and I was very impressed with the fact that they serve breakfast all day long and their serving sizes are impressive and the prices are relatively cheap compared with the TA or Flying J. There are in fact a few Truck stops nearby, The Flying J and Loves before You reach I-81.
There is a Walmart at Exit 29 before You get to Midway at Rt. 61, right next to the Cabelas, which is a spot that is Big rig friendly. I have noticed that Cabelas is an unofficial Truck Stop in and of Itself. They have a large restaurant inside of Cabelas and the store of course sells a lot of clothing and camping gear.
The only problem with the Midway Truck stop is It is'nt very sanitary, It lacks showers and It lacks stores, except for an Exxon station that carrys Truck supplies. -
Is that called the "Midway Truck Wash & Fuel Stop"? I'm guessing it has to be the same one, located off the exit for 501?
-
Or that may be the exit just before 501 actually.....?

They have a CAT scale there. It's a clean ts and also have very nice clean showers. also they have food, not a restruant but they cook a small variety of food.
rogueunh Thanks this.
