I'm starting with Roehl honor program on the 27th of August. Seemed the best deal between the 2 companies that I was considering.

I have been considering going with Roehl or JR Schugel. But Schugel Says I need 6 mos recent otr which i dont have. So maybe roehl would be my best bet. Not sure yet.

Do you keep the same truck with 7/3? or slip seat. Thanks

  5. Picked up my truck June 29th. spent the first 7 days at home and have been doing 11 days out and 3 days at home since then. I have put 8369 miles since I picked it up. I am in the Honor Program also.

  6. 7 and 7 along with the 7/3 7/4 guys slip seat unless they are a trainer. I had a trainer who was 7/3 7/4 and he had his own condo, but the rest of them slip seat. I was thinking of the 7/3 7/4, but don't want to move in and out each week. I have way too much stuff in the truck to do that. lol

Hey all, first time posting on this board. I have been doing a lot of research lately about trucking and this forum has helped me a lot. I finally decided on Roehl, and will be attending their training school on August 20. Anyone else start that date? Also, how big are the classes on average? Hopefully this trucking thing will work out for me. Thanks guys!

Roehl fixed the housing issue; I will be in the Old Dutch apts with all the usual ammenities. Now whats all this about paid mileage to go there and sign on bonus? News to me...

They paid me mileage to go to orientation, not sure about to school.
It is actually a sign on/stay on bonus. It is like $300 paid after your first 60,000 mi

I might have been confused on the mileage for training.....can't find anything on it now in my packet from Roehl or on the website. It could have been another carrier. I was looking close at Schneider but don't think it was them either.

Anyhow, I am also concerned about miles after coming out of school. I've got a wife, kids, canines, felines, and a house note plus all the other bills. So, I am going to need all the miles I can get after school & training. My concern is 2-fold: am I going to get the miles as a rookie (especially with the slower time of year approaching in Nov-Dec), and, will I get them out of my area of the country with Roehl? If I resided in the midwest or toward the northeast, I am sure they would keep me busy. Any thoughts/opinions to increase or decrease my stress & worry?:biggrin_2552:
