I figured that but can a 5ek be made to run with a 6nz if they are both same hp because the 5ek doesn't have any emissions crap on it either. Thanks for the info

If you do a search, you'll find out more than I can tell you, but some of the 5ek engines had weak cranks. The 6nz also has a more durable and lighter block.

All this talk about 6nz and 5ek, how does the 1Lw stand between them... (its what I got under the hood 550hp)

Some guys have all the luck...
SHC Thanks this. -
would you sell the grill
-
The 5EK and 6TS has a weak block and will crack along the main oil galley on the passengers side above 850 hp
-
The 1LW has a much stronger block than the 5EK and 6TS, but was known for breaking crankshafts. If it still has the original crankshaft in it, I wouldn't worry about it at this point. I would change the damper though.brenes-built Thanks this.

Thanks, Mr. H for the replies 850hp would be great to have at my disposal, but I just want 550 to 600 nothing to radical just good overall response and power.
