Yes 30 is a good road, 4 lanes, in some spots almost like the interstate in Indiana and Ohio, You can drop down to the 30 east of Joliet, Il and run it all the way, no problem, there is a low clearence in Joliet, but after that your good to go.

If your going to go that route, go ahead and stay on 80 to IN 49. Its only $2.35 and you miss a butt load of stop lights picking up 30 at I 65. Only problem with 30 is the 60 MPH in IN and the 55 MPH in Ohio. Other than that, its 4 lane thru both states to I 71 in OH.

Got the right pole and have it mounted but haven't slowed down enough to bother setting the dish up. Really want to make a telescoping pole and mount it on the back with the dish mounted permantly. Should be able to do that fairly easily. Just need access to a welder to tack a nut on. Well, and buy the poles.....:yes2557:

US30 east of I81 isn't bad but west of 81 is a different story panhandles right steer clear. I'm sure you've all seen those signs on the pa turnpike in breezewood that tells trucks to stay off 30 breezewood to mcconnellsburg. That mountain in mcconnellsburg is no fun.:biggrin_25513:

Bummer. Without constant power to the converter box, what used to be a 5 minute process to hook up sat., now takes about 25 or so. *sighs* Have so got to get a "REAL" inverter installed.

Understood your setup snowwy, just don't know where to get an extendable mast at the moment. Suggestions???

II wired in our power inverter. In the freightshaker we found out they wired in a 1500w under the bunk so I will relocate that one for the frig and put in our 2000w one for the rest of our electronics. We have 4 batteries so it will be wired 2 per inverter. Once we get an apu we wont have to worry so much about the voltage but in the mean time the 2000w allows us to monitor the voltage without the truck being on. I can't wait to get running so I can get a satellite for our truck. Id like to see a football game instead of just listening to them on the xm radio.jj.
