Windows 8 will be the most extreme makeover of the Windows operating system to date. If you like the IPhone and Android interface you will love Win 8. http://goo.gl/sBphW

    I'm still working in XP.

That made me feel like a dinosaur.

I do not like the whole cloud thing.. I will not switch to Win 8 unless I have the option to still store my personal stuff on a physical HD..

Most of the apps for Windows will be on the cloud like MS. Word. You will be able to store your docs, photos, and even Turbo Tax on your hard drive.

My concern is that I do not like the IPad, IPhone or Android style GUI. When the beta WIN 8 comes out I will try it but from what I have read so far, I'll keep WIN 7.

    doubledragon5 Thanks this.

I have not looked too deep into Win8 yet, but to jump on the cloud you have to pay a monthly fee. I would think that if you already have office 2007/10 that the programs will still run on your local machine.

Depending on the cloud as a driver could be rough due to the way the driver has to connect to the internet.

I've seen it, I was not impressed, or see any reason to rush out and buy it. They've basically merged the desktop and phone operating systems into one. When you install it on a PC, you get both the traditional desktop UI plus the "Metro" UI (user interface.) When you install it on a phone or tablet, you get only the Metro UI. Interestingly I've had several friends try to get it running in a virtual machine, and it only seems to work when the virtual machine is running on a Mac. Go figure. Another friend of mine installed it on a bare hard drive as his primary OS and it ran fine.

    I found this video.
