How would a civilian best find a trucker to ride along with for strictly pleasure trip? Stressed out sitting in an office all day and want to see some countryside. Willing to compensate and pay expenses.

Most insurance will not allow a non employee to ride in a truck. Some allow the Spouse of a driver to ride with them. I wish you luck. Snicker,LOL I'm sorry, but that's way too funny.

That's like saying you want to ride on a train/plane to see some country.

Except worse, at least there is somewhat of a vacation aspect to planes & trains! There's no vacation in trucking!

He might get a ride with SUPERTRUCKER and find that there's no top bunk and the wagon only stops once a week for showers. It would be the last trucking vacation EVER for Mr curious.

If the OP is female, cute, smells good, is easy on the eyes, doesn't talk too much and remembers that I rule the radio and heater... I might.

Screw the Ins Co, im their customer and they can do what they're paid to do.

Ah, by his name, some of you can zip it up. :)

You can always go to the Richmond Love's (exit 95) and tell everyone your car broke down, your dog got ran over and you are trying to get to your sick mother in LA.

Ride a Amtrak if you want to see some country. They are alot of fun.

Thanks for all the terrific replies. I had no illusions about Caribbean vacations. I've traveled the world both first class and with a backpack. I'm simply looking for another perspective on life. If I were a journalist looking to do a story on a truckers life, would it have been different? I'm not sure why truckers are often considered azzholes.........oh wait, yes I do.

PS....You'll recognize me as the black ZR1 Corvette in your mirror that will now refuse to slow up and let you over when your coming up on slower traffic. I won't slow down to hinder you, I'll simply exhibit the same lack of courtesy I was greeted with here.
