So, since this is a "favorite trucking company" forum and Con-Way is on my short list and since the have a deal with some training company in the Detroit area, who can tell me something about that?

When you are hired with Conway they tell you that you must have a place to park your truck and trailer to go home. I'm guessing you don't? I have to assume, because you have not said why, that this is why you have to drop your trailer to go home? When you drop it, it no longer belongs to you. I think you are lucky they let you go home at all or even hired you if you have no place to leave the coupled truck and trailer. It used to bena requirement. I have never had a problem with payig first and then getting reimbursed. I don't live paycheck to paycheck though, you should try to get some money saved up so that this is not causing you a cash flow problem. You were advised of both of the issues you have before being hired...if they are such a problem for you, why did you say yes to working at Conway? Just curious...

That's one of the nicest things about living where I do. There are a couple of Con-way Freight yards within 20 miles or so and the Con-way Truckload yard isn't that far away. Plus Penske, Kenworth, and Freightliner have secure yards they allow drivers to use if there's room (which there usually is) and the US mail contractors have a huge place that is also secure.
Now all I need is a job!
