from what ive seen sitting in the walmart dc yard is the trucks are almost all mid roofs, and i think there 06's for the most part. so your looking at 500-750k miles on them. they arent in bad shape by no means but until the economy picks up and Schneider as a whole starts to update there fleet thats what your going to wind up with. my truck has been on the tradein sell list since last winter but they held off on there big 2010 pre buy. so im thinking there going to hold off until 2012-2013 before they do a big pre buy again to beat 2014 emissions -
You obviously have not seen the trucks that come to the WalMarts around Pittsburgh because they all are missing pieces of their front bumpers, scratches and dents. Another thing that bothers me is that they slip seat. I do not want to sleep in a truck a 1000 of guys have slept in. I might be able to over look the the condition of the truck if it meant being assigned to me.

I was hired by SNI to run the Wal-Mart in Henderson, NC. To my knowledge every Wal-Mart dedicated is slip seat. The trucks are otr that have reached the end of the lifespan for that and are brought to the dc to run the account because they are back almost everyday and can get fixed on a constant basis.
Wanting a new truck is fine but after you have driven for a while you get over it and want one that is clean and well maintained. My current truck with my company has 928,000 on it. It's clean and runs fine. and makes the same amount of money for me that a new one would -
If youd read my last post word for word you will see that I specifically said WINTERSVILLE walmart not pittsburg. And why would schneider put anything better then 04-05 trucks in pitts, philly or NYC. Higher risk of being hit by a rubber necker so why risk wrecking a newer truck. -
Dang...I started almost 3 months ago and got a brand new truck.....
I must be missing out
