Personally, I think you are a little too wrapped up in yourself if something as small as another truck flashing thanks bothers you. It certainly would never warrant blinding them with brights. Its not like he lit up a LED middle finger on the back of the trailer.

Wisdom has taught me to gain knowledge from those with said knowledge, rather than trying to be the one who wants to impress those with both wisdom and knowledge by rattling off what I've learned thus far. I never gained any knowledge or wisdom while talking. Just sayin'.

the key word is properly aimed--at least a third of the headlights arnt properly aimed--the rate for ### lights would be like closer to 90 %--if they are aimed right --they wouldnt be shining in my eyes and being totally usless to the operator

    Lol...

Really?? Factory OEM fogs are of the same wattage and brightness (I know, in this case, it's the same thing) as the lowbeams, so how can they be as bad, or in other words, as bright as highbeams?

Its not the intensity, its the aim. Many fog lamps are sorely misaimed to where the beam cutoff is way too high, and since the light is focused in a broad beam, it will glare right in your eye at every angle. Even a low wattage 800 series bulb foglamp will blind if aimed wrong.

FWIW, sometimes there's not much difference in overall lamp output between lowbeams and highbeams, especially in cases like the Cascade and early models of the Columbia, where lows and highs used the same type of bulb, like the H7..

We are on the same page as to which "thank-you" flashes I'm annoyed by, aren't we?

If we are, as far as being "too wrapped up in myself" as you so blatantly wish to put it, in other words, you're saying its ok for people to expect to be flashed over everytime they pass, regardless if they need it or not but its not ok for someone like me to have a problem with it because my opinion of real courtesy differs from yours? Hmmm....
Well, I did say I quit practicing this behavior because of not always being sure why the driver that just passed me, that I didn't flash my lights at, gave me the thank-you flash.

Although, if you didn't see the comeback over flash whether the truck you just passed flashed you over or not, if you didn't see it, what difference does it make? Why flash your tails or 4-ways to say thank you for something you technically didn't receive? The whole point in the first place for the comeback over flash is so that you see without a doubt the truck you're passing is telling you when to come back over.

As I said, if you didn't physically see the flash, then the truck you just passed needs to be treated like it never flashed you over at all. It's all about paying attention from both the truck being passed and the truck doing the passing in order for into work properly.

Yeah, I know, I know, there's people out there that get their feelers twisted if they don't get the thank you flash. I'm not going to speak for everybody but if I give the come over flash and don't get a thank you, its cool. Life will continue and the sun will still rise in the morning and set in the evening like it always has for last 10 billion years.
Even if he did, how would you know otherwise? So many people blink that left turn signal for the wrong reason because they don't know the true meaning of it. I've even had people flash the left blinker me as a thank-you when I did give a warranted come back over flash.

For clarification purposes, we'll wait for the intended recipient to say whether or not they feel blinded by these lights just because they are fog lights or if it actually is due to thinking they are aimed improperly.

It's kind off intriguing that more and more comments are starting to revolve around the mis-alignment rather than the lights themselves......

Yeah, in cases like those, there is no difference in wattage or brightness because the low beams, high beams and fogs use the same bulb, which is a H-11 on the Cascadia, which is where the design of the lens comes into play. but when it comes to comparing the highbeam lens to the fog light lens, there should be no confusion as to which one is putting out more light to a certain area.

There is a truck stop in Arkansas first time I had been there and I pulled up before I went inside front tires on the line and all, turns out apparently lines are still for 48 foot trailers guy in the fuel island behind me cut my airlines and backed back into another island
Moral of the story that's why I never pulled forward from fuel island until I was leaving, one selfish dip **** can ruin it for the whole bunch
unless I was gonna shower or sit down and eat, then id park but I almost never had time for that unless my day was up
