I'm not one to let other peoples opinion dictate what I believe to be true. If one does not think a decade amounts to anything then so be it. There will always be "that guy" that thinks if you haven't been driving for 50 years you are a "rookie". But again I couldn't care less what my peers think about my years of service....it sounds like you as a person has the "follow the herd" mentality. But hey....to each hois own.

Roger that quickway,,, I here you loud and clear..
My mentality is this...you have to follow before you can lead. You have 10 years I have 3+ I don't say I have more because my father had 35, mother 15... I have driven a truck way before I had a liscense but not as I do now. I say if you feel you have nothing else to learn, than you have nothing else to gain and should move on.. I appreciate your time on the road but still believe, we all have more to learn each and everyday. Be safe out there brother trucker...and God Bless

Well sheepdog allow me to clear the air. I do NOT believe I have nothing more to learn....I'm simply stating that my record shows me to be a safe driver to my company as well as insurance companies. And just to add....If everyone followed the herd we would most likely still believe the world is flat as well as still thinking the earth is on the back of an elephant. just a few examples of what happens when one follows the herd.

Why would you even ask such a question? You do your best to do your job. Sometimes you just can't stop in the middle of downtown Chicago, so you try and pull to the nearest safe stop, but that takes another hour in traffic. Should you be penalized for this? I don't think so. Just make the book look right (include toll times and other possible ways they can catch you) and everyone's happy.

Just do like a lot of truckers do:

    Work 100 Hrs,

    Log 70

    Get Paid for 50.

Once you throw your integrity out the window you can't get it back. Log the violation, make a remark, whatever your comp any does yo you will be easier than what the DOT or a court of law can.

A driver shouldn't be put in that position to begin with. Some of these dispatchers and planners are just as guilty, yet hide behind the curtain while the driver takes the heat.

If you face your DAC being ruined or fined $400 for a late delivery, sometimes the $150 DOT fine starts looking good.

I think Greasehauler said it well.
