OK, lemme see if I got this right: all week the qualcomm has been screaming about CSA and doing your job properly ,or, facing possible termination if you have a preventable. Fine, I actually do what I'm supposed to. This morning I get dispatched to a drop yard to p/u a split heading east. The legs of the trailer will not go up all the way, like 6-8" short. Like hanging at the same level as the bottom of my mud flaps short. Get the picture? OK, follow procedure: notify service. They take 2.5 hours to call the t/s shop ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE YARD. Tech comes over, says"here's the problem, the landing gear are installed WRONG". Yep, somebody installed them TOO LOW. So, great, I did the right thing, right?

Well no good deed apparently goes unpunished. Service wants the trailer driven to a shop 15 miles away. "No way", says I, "its not safe". They agree, and will see about the shop next to yard. Dispatch says stand by. Fast forward about 12 hours. Night disp. sends message wanting to know if I'm loaded? WHAT? I then repeat everything in the QC again and request instructions. They tell me to submit service request again. AGAIN. Meanwhile I'm punished for "doing the right thing", not the dipstick who drove it to the yard from the shipper, me. I'm sitting here so long I'm gonna reset. I'm sorry for the length of the post, but I got to rant and theres no one else to talk to but me.

How did it get to where it is now ? If it was pulled down the road to where it is now, it can be pulled to a repair place.

Just cause at least 1 nitwit pulled it, doesn't mean I'm gonna compound it. It's not safe.

You did the right thing, sort of. Eventially all these nimwits dropping broke trailers will get caught hauling them. Then they'll get fired. Atleast that's how the system is suppose to work.

Until then, you're ###### if you do, ###### if you don't. Something like landing gear not going all the way up, if it's off the ground 2-3", you could of made it somewhere close. It's hooked to your truck. Your tractor could of been sitting in a rut giving the appearance of the landing gear being low.

15 miles. I would just pull it there and be done with it. Log the problem and head to the shop.

It's amazing how many drivers out there don't care about their job. This trailer I picked up needed 6 tires to be replaced. How can you miss 6 tires that were either flat-spotted, or worn all the way through the tread?!? Idiots.

Yeah, they log a PTI/DVIR but 9 times out of 10 they never do one. And this is what you get.

    Nyman Thanks this.

Nyman, it sounds like you need to call safety and give them the names of the people that are pushing you to move unsafe equipment. Give names and times and your QC has a permanent record of the messages sent.

    THBatMan8 and CondoCruiser Thank this.
