Man it's been forever since I really had time to update things.............
Seems like I have done nothing but regional runs since coming out of hometime. Needed to get to BRF to get a B-Service done so I could get the cab wing repaired. So needless to say - been running short runs as they were trying to get me there.
Finally made it after a delivery to Stevens Point, WI last night. Got the B-Serv done and was able to get my vent visors installed also. However when I looked at the cab wing - yea it's fixed - but it's a lighter shade of color than the rest of the truck. They said they are "after-market" -All that waiting and it stands out even more now.
Now they tell me - I have to go to Kenworth in Madison in the morning to get the rear-end checked and an ECM update.
Got a load going to Kenosha for tomorrow so will stop at the KW dealer and then head to the customer.
Miles have been less than stellar of late but hope this will change soon!
Hope everyone is well - and be safe! -
Miles have still be a little off lately - this week has been better except for my own mistake.........
Got a load out of Buffalo going to Kankakee, IL for an 9pm delivery on Wednesday. While running Wednesday I got a preplan for a load right out of Kankakee going to Newnan, GA. that delivers on Friday - but no time was listed (i guess since preplan they didnt have the time yet. Love those unload/loads in the same place!
Get to Kankakee about 6pm - get assigned to a door and get unloaded by 8. Get a beep with the final load info and Customer say's to check back in with them at 10PM and they will see what door I need to get re-loaded. Again - no problem. So at 10pm I get assigned another door - however there is a truck there and need to just wait till they move. Well - I waited till almost midnight - then get backed into the door. Customer says may not load till morning since it's a 5am load time. Once again No Problem. So I sit and figured I would get some sleep till morning. Nope! Get woke up at 2:20 am - they are done loading me. (didnt hear it since you have to disconnect at docks). Ok - I get up - reconnect and move to the far end of the lot and try to go back to sleep since I knew I had to leave by 5am to make it too at least Cartersville, GA so I could shut down in enough time to be able to then roll Friday and make it too Newnan by 7am.
Well - needless to say I get about 3 hrs sleep - roll on down to GA and call it a night. Get up at 4am - head to Newnan for my 7am delivery (trying to always be at least 1/2 early). Get to customer and they say; "this load delivers tomorrow at 7am". WHAT!!!!
I receck the QC and sure enough - when they resent the dispatch - they added the missing delivery time which I saw - but they changed the delivery date to Saturday. I didnt even think to look at that.
So needless to say - I cant blame dispatch. It's my fault for not re-reading it carefully. Better to be a day early then a day late. But sitting for an entire day was caused by bad planning on my part.
So here I sit in the great city of Newnan! Gotta love it! -
Man that sucks, but now you get to enjoy the night life of Newnan!
-
Good to meet up with you again man. Sorry I couldn't stay longer to bs more. Next time is on me.
-
How about that got to meet up again yesterday in Madison. Im still sitting here waiting to deliver at 9pm tonight.
I appreciate the dinner and it's always great getting to hang out with you! -
Been a good couple of weeks for miles - not near as many short run which is good. Sitting in Stafford MO taking my 10 and then rolling into Ft Worth in the morning. Doesnt deliver until Monday but going to try to get it off tomorrow.
Keeping fingers crossed - gotta get unloaded and then it's Football time!
Be Safe! -
Rolled out of Stafford MO at 430AM this morning heading towards TX. Get through Big Cabin, OK and running down 69 when I see traffic slowing down around Pryor OK. I cant beleive it but there is a steer walking down the road in the fast lane. People are just driving by like it's an everyday thing - I guess only in OK.
Well got to the brewery at about 2:30PM and dropped the load but there are no empties - crap! Send dispatch a message and he tells me to drop and hit ready and he has a load for me. Cool!
I hit my calls and get a load from the brewery going to Tampa, FL. Great run and it's about 1130 miles loaded! Only problem is I am very low on hrs since I have been running day to day for the past two weeks. Could never get a reset in since most of the runs I got should already have been delivered when I get them.
Told dispatch I had 9 hrs tomorrow and then only 3 for the next day. He said to grab it and go and it's ok just let my dispatcher know in the morning when I can make the delivery. So I grabbed it and ran - now sitting in the J just outside of Dallas on 20.
I was approved to become a OTR trainer and was supposed to be back in Richfield for a class on Wednesday - well that aint gonna happen. But that's ok - I'll catch the next one I guess!
Loving the miles in the last few weeks!!!!!!!
Be safe everyone!wulfman75 Thanks this. -
Good for you. Get trained so you can be my trainer. Would be great since we are 20 miles apart.
