Blind spots abound in semi trucks. The pillars at the side of the cab that hold the windshield in the truck coupled with over sized west coast mirrors can obscure a "small car" rather easily. I have had this happen to me on a few occassions and had cars "appear" out of nowhere.
As for rolling stops; I guess you super truckers have never had a clutch fail. When that happens you cannot stop the truck unless you pull it out of gear. If you do pull the truck out of gear then GOOD LUCK getting it back into gear without seriously grinding gears or stopping the engine and then restarting it once its in gear (if you were lucky enough to catch the gear before the engine stopped turning the flywheel entirely).
Veteran drivers have dealt with mechanical issues and make decisions on how to get the truck to a home terminal or truck stop for repair rather than wait for a tow truck on the side of the road. Yes, that does include rolling stops and pacing traffic lights. Been there and done it.
To the OP; How about being a little less judgemental and realize the driver may NOT have seen you coming rather than believe he intentionally tried to cut you off? You must really be ARROGANT to think truck drivers go out of their way to inconvenience you four wheelers (or in this case YOU specifically). The truth is truck drivers view you 4 wheelers as nothing more than another motorist who does stupid things on a regular basis. Get over yourself.
Drivers pay attention!!

I have had a failed clutch. I stopped for the stop signs and cut the motor off at delayed traffic lights. If I didn't roll it into gear as I came to a stop.
"Rolling stop?" There's no such thing. Either you're rolling or you're stopped. -
And that is the reason why we have so many regulations
-
Reporting it will just get him fired, it won't help anything
I had a car coming off of a circle ramp blocked by foliage doin 35 coming onto the interstate had there been anyone beside me, I would've chose him, luck saved his life that day..
That same story I told happens everyday numerous times a day.
And even reported it doesn't really effect the 4-wheeler.. A big rig has one stroke of bad luck and may not be able to work again.
They don't fix things they just replace people with more inexperienced driversdiesel_weasel and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
DIDO. The guy was in a hurry and their are bad discourteous drivers out hear. Just like bad cops, train engineers, doctors& candel stick makers
-
There are no bad candlestick makers, FACT
FozzyBear Thanks this. -
I had a failed clutch, didn't even realize it till the next day when it wouldn't pull out of the space
Of course I only used it for stopping and backing
I floated the rest the time -
Glad you didnt get into an accident, with this un-proffesional driver, But?, I've had many 4-wheelers do this exact thing to me, on many occations, it's wrong on both sides, we all need tro be more careful, ether in a big truck or 4-wheeler
-
how do we know that the driver did not stop. because the op said so.
possible the op was speeding and came over the top of a hill and there is the truck turning. How dare him turn on my road and slow me down. Could the op be telling a lie.
-
This guy did the right thing reporting that guy for not stopping at a stop sign, his lousy habits reflect on you as a driver and me I can`t believe the number of people who defend his actions
Cars do this to us every day, yes they do but you as proffessional drivers defend a driver who does it "unbelievable"
