Hey all, just found out that CR England has a promotion for veterans in which school is 100% free. This is my first post on here and looking to get some info/advice. Thanks all.
    Dave
PS I have heard a lot of trash talk about CR England but it seems like there is trash talk about every company. Any thoughts?

The recruiter from CR England that I just got off the phone with seemed like the most helpful out of all the recruiters that have been spamming my phone. She answered the questions that I had but couldn't think to ask at the time. She gave me her extension and fax number so I could fax over my DD-214 (military papers), and told me that she would give me a call every two or three days to keep me posted. All of the other recruiters I have spoken with called me and said "So what do you want to know?..........." I know this isn't representative of the company as a whole, but it is definitely a good start. What exactly should I look for in a trucking company? Where do I start? And completely off topic, but what is bob-tailing? Shows how much I know about trucking. Thanks guys,
    Dave

You need to look for whats right for YOU.

    #1 Hometime
    #2 CPM (cent per mile)
    #3 Average Miles per week
    #4 Average miles per year
#5 Accesorial pay (tarping, loading, unloading, stops, Detention time, lay overs
#6 Equipment Is it safe? Legal? or and old POS that will get you a bunch of tickets....
#7 Safestat Score....This will get you pulled into more scales or allow you to be bypassed based on the companys saftey score
#8 see if they have EZPass and Pre-Pass
#9 See if they have APU's
#10 Do they have a Idle policy? what does it consist of...
    #11 Do they allow inverters?
#12 Do they allow you to bring a pet? or a Passenger?
#13 how close are you to there nearest yard/terminal?
#14 can you take the truck home?
#15 what do they pull? (vans, reefers, Flats, Tankers)
    #16 Benifits....
    #17 Bonuses?
#18 Do they run Paper or E-Logs?
#19 What speed are the trucks limited too?

etc thats in no particular order. But look for all that info and see what company meets most of your needs.

CRE is by far the sheetest company out there, and yea there nice so that they can get you there and all relaxed before they bend you over and rape you :yes2557:

bobtailing is driving just a tractor with no trailer

    Perfect location;

If you can pay for school yourself (you will be reinbursed) Call Watkins Shepard Trucking. We need East Coast drivers bad, allot of them are home most weekends (mainly the NC guys not sure about the drivers from MD)

    or

If you are short on money and want your CDL for free Minus the $500 upfront fee Call Millis Transfer. They run East of the Miss River.

Both companies are very similar and VERY good. Lots of miles and money to be had with both companies.

    Millis does use E-Logs though.

Another Good company you might want to check out is Epes. They're home most weekends. Mainly run the east coast and they run e-logs to :biggrin_25511: But other then that i've never heard a bad thing about them and know a few guys that work there.
