Husband rear-ended another semi

It's 13 points in NC so you need to clarify that statement with the state your talking about. That's not a blanket rule for everyone.

 

8 months experience and a reared accident? Good luck. Rearending anything is something that should never ever happen period

 

So, what your saying is....

Hypothetically, I could be running 18 hours straight(violating HOS rules). Get in a fender bender in a town... Call city/county police(most have not a clue how to look at a log book), and have them do their report and be on my way? Fudge, logs later... It seems the insurance companies would go bonkers about an accident geing handled this way.

I have to disagree, I know quite a few ladies that thoroughly love getting rear ended

if he did not get cited than the officer felt he did not commit an offense. how bad was the acident. tapped the other truck etc. I once had a ladie merge into my tractor in traffic peeled the side of her car back like a sardine can. It happened right on the state line had troopers from both states there. accident was her fault troopers never cited me and it is not on my report. so where are these magical points coming from if no one was cited?

That happoened with me, I drive a roll off truck and one day was going down the interstate and some sheet rock fell off and hit a ford f150 and the guy turned his blue lights on. Come to find out he was a Sheriff in Oklahoma who was going to Raleigh to pick up a prisoner, he called the cops, city cop showed up and asked me did you have the load tarped and I said yes it is right there and he said well its just an accident and thats it

We exchanged insurance and I was on my way. If DOT had showed up it would have been an entirely different outcome, as it was nothing at all showed up on my record.

 

One question about this 'rear end accident'. Obviously, it wasn't a state police/DOT, etc doing the accident. Otherwise, I'm sure a citation would have been made (or is pending further investigation).

Second, I'm assuming it was very minor (like a foot-slipped off the clutch at a red light, etc) otherwise a vehicle would need to be towed, and I'm sure a local yokel would have the sense to call DOT if either vehicle needs to be towed.

Either way, check your MVR through the state and see if it shows up. Check your company's CSA info online and see (in about a month) if the accident shows up with his truck info (VIN#, location, etc). If nothing can be found on either, try signing on somewhere (preferably out of the state the accident took place), and see if they catch it.

It can't hurt to try. Because the other option will be waiting several years for it to scroll off your records and then being forced to go back through training. I can't imagine any company that hear '8-month driver history rear ended another car' and will sign you on. Especially in this economy where companies have their pick of the pile.

 

Contact your nearest Russian trucking company. I'm sure they will hire you as a team and give you more miles then you can handle.
Check any company from Chicago that has a odd ball name and start there. Good luck.
