    LOL

    1) You fail on stereotypes. I don't drive for JB Hunt

    2) Never had a late delivery that was my fault. I won't accept a load if I cant run it legally.

    3) Check your reading comprehension level. I said to set the cruise to 50 if the posted limit is 55.

    4) You can bash my driving habbits all you want. I don't care. The fact remains that I've driven 10 years accident and ticket free, and I plan on keeping it that way. Go ahead and get your speeding ticket. I'll make sure to wave at you and the smokey at your 6 as I pass you.

Believe what you want, but my MVR is spotless. No tickets, and no accidents. I'll even go all the way back to when I first got my license at 16. Still, no tickets or accidents.

Never had an attorney on any of my tickets. Beat the charge on several of them in my younger years.

I know exactly what my speed is and I too, cannot understand a ticket for it.

Last speeding ticket was when I was 16.

You drive for a bottom feeder nontheless. you have delivered late, you turn down loads and you hold up traffic on American Highways. I have never delivered late thanks to big CAT POWER, never turned down a load because I can get it there, and I can't drive 55. Oh and I have one ticket in my life, 84 in a 65 cost of ticket...46.00 and nothing on my license in New Mexicio 13 years ago. Unlike you I am not a driver who still drives like my trainer is in the truck woth me.

That's what I thought would help me. The DA forgot to get the cop there. But the judge let her call him, he was there in aboiut 30 minutes.

    Question:

Was the ticket issued from laser or electronic calculations of speed by the officer?

If your answer is "YES"...radar/laser confirmation of speed...just pay the ticket. This is not 15 or more over the limit...so you aren't in the "reckless" speeds.

Traffic tickets aren't worth the multiple hundreds of dollars the attorneys will charge to represent you just so you can scrape 30 bucks off the fine.

To the poster that said he paid the fine even when the charges were dropped....I call BS...the fine is set due to conviction of the offense.

Unbelievable....you guys whine and cry about lawyers and frivolous cases....yet are willing to pay these scalpers at the truck stops for "representation" when you get a traffic ticket?

How about asking the court for a plea of abeyance

If it's a <15 ticket, just go and appear in court yourself. The worst that can happen is that you pay the ticket after being found guilty.

I've yet to have a speeding ticket in a truck (had one in a car back when I was 18). I did have an out-of-lane (third lane from the right) in California on Grapevine empty and fought it myself. I was still a novice and nobody told me (and I failed to realize the sign at the state border was not just for the lead-up to the ag checkpoint) and I didn't realize, that trucks weren't allowed outside the two right lanes in California.

After the court hearing started, the judge recessed to let the defendants and prosecutors (officers) talk, make plea bargains, etc. The officer that pulled me over came over to the gallery and got the six or so of us that were his tickets, and took us to outside the courtroom and bartered with us to lesser fines. I got turned into a parking ticket (for $100 more, go figure). Meanwhile, the other non-trucking tickets were all lowered in MPH, or points/driver school nullified, etc. I know one guy had a 92-in-a-70 and was reduced to 79 in a 70 because it was his first ticket.

Cop was real nice about it and was just looking for easy convictions that he didn't have to fight and waste time. In all, the cop was before the judge for a whole 10 minutes while defendant after defendant was read his plea bargain, then plead guilty (or no contest), given his slip to pay the court and was done.

If it's something big (construction zone, school zone, 15+, reckless, etc), get a lawyer. A good one, too. Not one of these truck stop savants. But a real life, pay a retainer, lawyers to see if they can save your hide.

These days, when you get a warning or ticket it can cost points on your CDL and CSA score. If it is a speeding ticket and is over a certain speed, the driver could lose his job. If you have a ticket go on your record your personal auto insurance could also go up. There are a number of reasons that a professional driver should fight any ticket. Of course, the best thing would be to slow down.
