Hi all, I am a young 58 year old grandma who has just found love and life again with a very young 65 year old trucker. Was married for 40 years and widowed 2 years ago, thought my life was over then met Tom online. My life has never been so exciting. Loved my husband and my life but now know how boring it was, looking forward to this next chapter and wake each day with a smile, thank god for unlimited minutes and cell phones and looking forward to my first ride a long. His company doesn't allow them in winter so will have to wait until May but that is ok. I get to see him for 2 days every 2 or 3 weeks. Learning every day about routes, gps, scales and how big brother watches his every move. Looking forward to retirement full time in a motor home. Any advice on learning more about understanding how the trucking business works would be appreciated. Nice to meet you all

Hi, Linda. Welcome to TTR. There's lots of wives and girlfriends here, so you'll have plenty of good company while Tom is on the road.

Stick around here. You'll learn it all, the good the bad and the ugly.
Mrs T Thanks this. -

Welcome, Linda. I am the daughter of a now retired trucker and now find myself (after my husband took many twists and turns in his search for a career that fulfills him - think at the age of 52, he might have finally found that!) a wife of a trucker. Even though I am the daughter of a trucker, due to my parents' divorce when I was a wee little thing, I was not around my father for much of his trucking career but I did manage to get a ride along when I was 17 years old. My husband is just starting out in this career as a company driver for Maverick Transportation so you and I can learn together.
