Nothing wrong with leaving for a better job...a lot of people that leave on good terms are always welcome back. Good luck with the local job. If family is what is important, and you like driving, it doesn't matter if you make a lot less doing local work.

Today is my 5 year anniversary of being with Heyl!! 4 more days until I leave on my 7 day Alaska cruise. Ahhh!! Can't wait to just relax for a week. Since the last time I did a short run from Kent, Wa to Kennewick, Wa. From there, I picked up the same load I did last week. A load going from Milton-Freewater, Or going to Shawnee, Ks. I only made it to Rawlins, Wy before I switched with someone giving me a load going back to Portland, so I could make sure to be back in Yakima by later in the week. It is surpising how much they are getting me through Ogden or Salt Lake City. I had the funnest time taking my brother and his 4 kids to the opening of the Smurfs movie. My brother has a smurfs tatoo, and has been looking forward to it for a long time. Smurfs was a HILLARIOUS movie, recommend it to anyone! When I get back from my cruise on the 12th I will be relaxed and ready for anything.

Well I have been with HEYL for 4 months now and I do not have one single complaint. I know that is odd in this industry but they give me miles, fix my truck when something is wrong and don't try to babysit me. And the big thing, they get me home when I need to be there.

I'm going to Zephyrhills tomorrow for orientation. Hopefully on the road Friday.

Everyone here in Zephyrhills is so friggin friendly. What a difference from Stevens.
I wonder if everybody is so nice and willing to work with you at the other terminals. I'm very curious about my DM.
I guess I'll find soon enough. I should have a load Saturday.
See ya on the road. Say hi if you see me. Trk# 73. -
Where do you live Kokot? Florida?
-
Well i have been working about 3 months now and i still love. Its been a great job so far. Still on the local fleet. I have gone to ga about 4 times and that is a always 2 nights out. I only thing that has got to me is the other day my dm didn't tell me what was going on the next day so i waiting for my brother to get loaded. And when i got to delv. I was told to head back to trop. To pull a load tomarrow morning. That ment i had to take a 10 hour break and haul butt again. I dont mind that but i like to be home with time to see my family. I hate coming home and go straight to bed. Other than that everything has been great.

Hey Kokot,who is your DM?
-
Kokot you will find that Heyl is the polar opposite of Stevens. Other than ensuring the daily check call is completed by 0900 you are pretty much left to your own devices as long as you can deliver your load on time. Yes, the staff at the terminals are friendly and listen to your input. I highly recommend going to the Sioux Falls terminal and visiting with Red. There is a good chance he will also buy you lunch .
Although I am no longer with Heyl, my experience there was great. If I ever had to go back over the road Heyl would be at the top of the list.123456 Thanks this.
