Yep, top out at 5 years and stuck. If you were still a carpenter, your back would be out. I think that's what got my back from setting beams. I was the biggest on the crew and I always got elected. We'll stick this big thing on your shoulder and you crawl up the ladder.

 

Firefighter/EMT for 10 years, before that, various odd jobs while mainly being a house mom.

 

USMC/after high school/California Department of Corrections/14 years. Retired from Coalinga on partial disability..Started in the oilfields of Kern County, then UPS for 20+ years...Now, pulling a tanker...God I'm frigging old..If it wasn't for a late in life divorce (NEVER divorce an attorney for the local Child Support Division-I did..) I would still be collecting my UPS/IBT pension...3 more years of paying the ex and I'll be "re-retired"..

 

after High School...US Army (10 1/2 yrs.), Hospital Security (12 yrs.)...then into trucking.....what an exciting life.

Note: Had many jobs during "drunk" time but could not keep them for long. Employers had high expectations of me. They actually expected me to show up for work on Fridays and Mondays. Imagine that!!!!

Went to school for electrical courses to become a linesmen for Toronto Hydro.. Competed a couple times for the job going through various stages.. Never got the job... I might keep trying we'll see.. I am done switching jobs I am either staying at my city job or going to hydro (only because my pension comes with me so it won't affect me as far as my retirement goes.. it only affects my sonority level)
