I think I need a noise filter, please help!

So I have a basic CB radio in my 2011 Volvo, it's a Cobra WX18STII.
I've always had problems with the electrical noise that my 1200W inverter causes. Besides the static bursts that I hear over the CB's speaker whenever the inverter is actually powering anything (I drive with my laptop running and plugged into the inverter), I've recently discovered that the messages I transmit (outbound) are severely affected by this as well. I'm just googling the subject of CB noise, and there's a ton of technical stuff that goes right over my head, but I have figured out that what I'm dealing with is called inducted noise, coming from the electrical wiring.

I've found several brands of CB noise filters that claim to help clean up INCOMING signals, but my incoming signals are fine, as far as I can tell. Do these types of noise filters do anything for OUTBOUND signals? Can anybody point me in the right direction? I don't mind spending $20-30 (that's about as expensive as I've seen for these filters), but I'm not interested in any fancy high-tech gear. Please help!

That was quick! It's a company truck, I don't want to do anything complicated, or anything that I can be blamed for if the truck ever burns to the ground.

 

That's interesting, how can I find out which inverters will work without having to buy each one?

 

Can anyone else elaborate or confirm Hardlyevr's claim that a different inverter could cure this problem? I'm not about to spend hundreds of dollars testing inverters in hopes that they work!

 

I run Microsoft Streets & Trips while I'm driving. It's not absolutely necessary, but I use it for checking distances at a glance. Other than that, I have a microwave that I use when I'm stopped.

A driver told me yesterday that he was only hearing every second word when I was transmitting. He suggested that I may have a mic or antenna problem. I suppose swapping mics is easy enough, I will try that soon.
