Mack engines are a bit exotic. In 90-s they introduced V-Mack EDC with electronically variable timing. It is amazing, but no boost pressure sensor was used. Boost pressure was pre calculeted! Of course it was Euro-2 engine.

Later PLD engine appeared. but PLD engines were discontinued in 2004 and all new Mack/RVI engines are Volvo engines with Mack ore Renault label

Mack engines were ahead of their time from late 60's to early 80's.
I remember the Mack/Scania JV engines that were available.

You just don't see Mack trucks as much on the west coast like you do on the east coast. I never understood that..

Freightliners unite! We only have five votes?

Tough, I still would prefer a plastic truck anyday.

Paccar engines.... MX is DAF engine. Really not bad. Smaller Paccar engines are all Cummins engines with Paccar Logo, all with Bosch CRD system, and with made by Motorolla ore Bosch ECMs.

Yeah, I wish Detroit was still available in PACCAR products. Nothing against Cummins, I have just had some bad luck with then. Now with Cat gone, I'd rather have a Detroit.

I think I just [IMG] my own thread!!!
