Placement of single antenna

    I drive a frtlr classic xl pulling a stepdeck. I was thinking of using one antenna mounted on the headache rack. Is this as good or better than dual antennas on the mirrors.

    Will the top or most of the antenna be higher than the sleeper? If not then a big portion of the signal will be blocked by the bunk, so a mirror mount would be better. If you have a mid roof bunk (that the head ache rack is as tall as) or flat top it would be fine.

    102 whip off headache rack....seen many do it.

    No. Just using one antenna on the mirror (which is all I ever use) is better than the headache rack. Too much of the antenna is blocked by the truck body and trailer/trailer load. It might work good enough to suit you if you don't ever talk to people you cant visibly see. It will work better than the factory antennas on a Cascadia, but that's a different thread.
