In CB lingo the 19 stands for "What is your location" and breaker breaker is just an interrupt on the channel.

19 is the channel the truckers normally talk on. So breaker breaker 1 9 is just somebody chiming in on channel 19. "What's your 20" is location.

Mellonhs I'm in the same boat as u I'm completely new to the whole trucking thing. I'm just reading all these treads getting as much knowledge as I can be4 I get into school, and ask questions if need be. A little FYI for u to, I took the test twice. But I had a knee injury that set me back a couple months so it expires 10 days be4 I go down to trenton. I got everything the first time, hazmat, triples and doubles etc. etc. I talked to a recruiter at millis and he said all u need is combination, airbrakes, and of course the general knowledge. So that's all I got plus tanker. I don't know what you plan on doing if you just wanna take everything at once and get it. This time around I choose not to do hazmat or triples and doubles cause honestly that seems like a pain in the ### with hazmat u gotta get tested every 2 years and triples and doubles I just don't (as of now ) have the passion for or intrest in. But good luck on that book and whatever u choose to do.

Thanks Bear. I thought "Whats ur 20" Was location, But didnt know if truckers was diff. lol So lets say my road name is "young buck" (just an example) and i got going down the road and i seen a trucker i know... i would say "breaker breaker 1 9 this is young buck, is that you dark horse?" ??? lol

And FT my dad asked me what all was required to take. I had read somewhere else that all you need is combo, air brakes, and gen knowledge. So thats all im going to go get. Thanks for the info sir!

No problem man, (my personal personal opinion) good choice. Later on down the road if u need any of the others u can always get em. Have fun reading that book, the test should be a breeze for u, don't be nervous the day be4 and the day u take the test. It's not like a S A T test or a final exam for a brain surgeon. The questions (agian my personal opinion are rather dumb), questions are set up like this, if _______ of the leaf spring is missing your truck will be put out of service. A. 1" B. 11/16" C. 1/4". They always give you an off the wall answer a answer that is eh (its possible that can be it) and a definitive answer. That's just an example I made up but a simular question like that was on my test.
