I thought I would use this forum to give my fellow class mates a heads up on whats going on with my knee.

To catch everyone else up I was part of the this weeks graduating class. I didn't graduate however. Last Friday night I decided to go bowling across the street from the hotel. On my first ball somehow I dislocated my right knee. The knee cap was on the side of my leg. Pretty ugly and painful. Got an ambulance ride up the hill to the emergency room where they reset it and told me to go home and see a specialist.

So just 3 days from taking my test I went home. Today I had an MRI taken of my knee. The tech wouldn't tell me what she saw so I have to wait to see the specialist again on Tuesday. Today he told me not to be shocked at having surgery. He said many times he has to go in and tighten the tendons so it doesn't go out again.

Roehl is taking a wait and see with my knee. They won't say one way or another. They did say if I was out too long I would have to go through the entire 3 weeks of training again.

I want to congrat my class for passing the test. All but one passed and he'll pass next week. He had a bad case of nerves which surprises me seeing who are trainer was. These will all make great drivers for Roehl. They're all good guys.

Anyway I'll send an update out when I learn more. I hope my class posts about their experiences.

By the way a special thanks to Shots. His diary of his exp with class was really helpful. Because of him I had to try the hot tub and Culvers. I hit the hot tub every night but no Culvers. They have good cheese curds.

    Shotsjc Thanks this.

Hey Mongoose: Sorry for the misfortune. With just a little luck you can get back on the road sooner rather than later.

    Thanks guys.

Good news. Today the doc looked over my MRI and said he didn't think my knee needed surgery. What a surprise. I had prepared myself for bad news. Man was I happy. My Dad drove me to the doc so we went out and celebrated at Ruby Tuesdays. I still can't drive and I have to go through therapy for a month but I'll take it. Not only that but I was fitted for a big ugly knee brace. The kind with straps and metal rods holding everything in place. I get it Thursday. Not looking forward to it but if it keeps it from happening again I'll gladly wear it.

Here's what I don't get. I called my recruiter and told them whats happening like they asked me to. I then asked if I would have to do the squats again like before. Oh yes they want to know that my knee is sound. I told her that would take a while but what if I can't do them? She said I couldn't work for Roehl. That's cool and I understand that. She said I would still have to pay them for the school. So I asked if that was the case could I at least finish the school and take the test? She said no. I don't understand that. I would still have to pay for the school but not be allowed to take the test. That doesn't seem right. Not only that they won't let me wear my brace to do the squats.

One of my classmates texted me and said they were going out with a trainer Thursday. Hard to believe I'm so far behind. On a good note I swore off pop and chips when riding in the ambulance. I don't know if my weight had anything to do with my knee but I'm not taking that chance. The weight is going. I've had no sodas or chips since. Today the doc took my blood pressure and it was down to 117 over 80. I had also switched to sea salt. Man it made a big difference. I haven't even exercised since this happened. It's not been that low in years.

Here is something weird. Last night my foot started turning blue like when you sprain it. Today it was really bad. Everybody wanted to know what I did. I hadn't done anything. The doc said the swelling in my knee had gone down and the blood had fallen to my foot. Nothing to worry about. He said my toes would even be blue before this was over. Looks nasty.

I gotta classmate going back to class tomorrow to get ready to be tested again. I want to give him a shout out. This time he'll pass. Nerves got to him last week.

Oh man i hope it works out for you. that sucks about the technicalities of the school and not being able to finish. If it comes down to it you can take everything you learned and take that test on your own to get the CDL.

Hey MONGOOSE. Thanks for the shout out. I am glad my info helped you out. I am sorry for your injury but dont give up. I destroyed my knee years ago. Severed three out of four ligaments skiing. They figured I dislocated it like 8 times while crashing down the mountain. I had full blown open knee surgery. Full reconstruction and have to get a replacement some day. If mine healed up enough to do the squats then I am sure you will too.

I lost a decent amount of weight before comng to Roehl and it absolutley helped. I can really feel a difference in my knee when I get past a certain weight. Sea salt is something I switched to also a few years ago. I see the difference in that I see less swelling in my knee. Try eating a raw diet also. It really reduces swelling and inflamation.

I really hope things work out for you. Pm me if I can ever answer any questions on the knee. Take care and I hope to hear your comeback, whether with Roehl or not.

Thanks Treefork. I would have to find a truck. I guess you can rent them.

Shots I may just do that. See how it goes. What made your diary really handy was that I believe we had the same trainer. He mentioned just training a guy from New York who needed to fix a water pump. I figured that had to be you.

The guys in my truck had some serious issues with the guy. I won't bash him in public but I will say it didn't go so good. It was like being trained to drive a truck by Mike Ditka. Matching him with one of our guys was like mixing oil and water. It became really apparent that this student couldn't drive with this trainer and me and the other students safety was being jeopardized. In two days our nervous student stalled the truck twice on the rr tracks. Almost took out a bank of street lights because he forgot he was pulling a trailer. And came within an inch at least of running over a road worker. Our trainer made him way too nervous with his badgering and insults. We went to the office and explained what was going on. We thought it best to try another trainer.

They sent out an easy going guy. Made all the difference in the world. The student we were scared of went and had the 2nd highest test score. I only got to use this trainer one day because I got injured that Friday night. I will say it was the most stress free day we had.

Our first trainer was diagnosed with sleep apnea when I was there. When he gets on CPAP he'll notice how much better his mood will be. He would be in a good mood and then this nervous student would get behind the wheel and just send the trainer mad. The thing was it ruined his day. Once he got mad he stayed mad. He wasn't able to settle down.

So between that and my knee I had a really good time. lol I did meet some new friends and loved the hot tub. Oh yes and Culvers.
