White Dog, maybe the O/P can't prove income because it was earned in Mexico. Why would he file US tax returns if he was a legal noncitizen resident in Mexico?
That's one &*#% of an assumption you've made.

It hurts our government when we shop in the US... but what would you rather do??? Pay 3.78/gallon for a gallon of gasoline, vs paying 4.75+/gallon over here.
It costs me 3.25 to cross our border into the US, and I more then make up for the price differences in gas, and groceries to make it worthwhile.
Our government needs to step in and help deflate some of these prices(essentials like bread, milk, etc....) however because taxes fill the coffers, it ain't gonna change soon. -
Sazook:
Load of s***. If someone doesn't want to be a citizen of a country or live in that country, no reason to charge them taxes. But, with this guv'mint, I am not surprised.
Be interesting to see how they would enforce it across international borders.
Still, the O/P is right in saying Stephens has no right to anyone's tax returns just for applying for work. I believe they are overstepping themselves. -

I'm glad this post was stared, it made me look up what the tax rates are for where I live. I have always said to my wife we made more money out west, we had a better life. Now I know why. We pay pay twice the amount on tax now. But will she move back? No. That makes me so mad.
Injun Thanks this. -
Y'all are still helping support the Queen.

Having residense in another country doesn't make you exempt from paying taxes to the feds. If you work in the US, you need to pay taxes.
