My wife was induced last Friday and my dispatcher followed through and got me home on time the afternoon before. I asked if it would be ok to stay home through Monday to help my wife get situated with the new baby. I called Monday for my Tuesday dispatch and my dispatcher told me quite politely that I was a heel for trying to go back out and leave my wife home with all the kids and forced/allowed to take a few more days off. It was nice though really, I figured I was expected to get that truck moving again asap no excuses. So although my check next week will be almost nonexistent, I had some great family time with my wife and kids and newest son.

Glad to hear that man. I just finished orientation at Gary and everything they have told me so far has been 100% true. I may have actually got with a company that does truely care.

Treefork glad they let you have the extra time at home. They have always been more than fair with hometime... My grandfather died last fall, and they got me right home no questions asked, and told me to call when I was ready to come back out. Hope mom and new baby are healthy, with 5 now you have enough for your own basketball team...

Congrats and I love hearing stories like this. Roehl really values family and doesn't want you to forget it.

You know if you can afford it, you are legally allowed family leave. I think it's six weeks. The catch is that it is unpaid. Still in all, Roehl was great both when my wife's nephew was found dead after he had been missing for a month. Within a month later her dad died. Brandon told me concentrate on the family and let him know when I was ready to go back on the road.
Congrats on the newbie in the house. When are you going to let your wife take the truck out so she can get some sleep? -

I have one eleven year old. Chasing her around as a little one I came to the conclusion that to be a good parent you need the strength of youth and the wisdom of age. Unfortunately when you have gained the latter, you've usually lost the former.
